Shefter likes him going to Pittsburgh (Johnson's desire)....with Parker basically done Johnson and Mendenhall would make a great combo.

apparantly no one wants him...he's a FA, u won't be responsible for the 2 mill he's owed and no one has pulled the trigger...unless some big time injuries to RB's happen, he won't sniff a team.

LJ in cincy would have made sense two years ago when they were signing convicts, but now not so much. the skins is the most obvious spot to me based on snyders track record.

I'm pretty happy with Ricky Williams but is he still able to carry the work load. He's been a beast don't get me wrong but if Ronnie is done for the season can he go the rest of the year being the featured back? I really don't know.

Behind Ricky is Lex Hilliard and Kory Sheets. Lex has showed potential in the pre-season but hasn't been given an opportunity outside of special teams.

With all that said I think Larry Johnson would be worth taking a look at. I just don't know that the trifecta will take that risk with his recent issues. But if it were up to me I'd do it.

I agree, and also I think that if Brown is out for a while we'll see more of Pat White running the wildcat.

Bengals-Johnson union imminent?

Former Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson was en route to Cincinnati on Monday and, barring a last-minute breakdown, he expects to sign with the AFC North-leading Bengals, a source familiar with the negotiations told ESPN's Michael Smith.

A deal, if consummated, is expected to be for the prorated league minimum.

The Bengals, along with several other teams, first expressed interest in Johnson last week as depth behind Cedric Benson, who suffered a hip injury in Sunday's 18-12 victory at Pittsburgh.

If Johnson learns the offense quickly, it stands to reason he could be active for the Bengals on Sunday against the Raiders.
