LSU handled Vandy 24-9. It was a really sloppy game, mostly due to the shitty weather. Once again we were hesitant to throw the ball down the field, but JJ continued to play mistake free football. He completed 24 of 30 passes, but for only 160 yards. We didn't take any chances with him, his night consisted of a lot of quick throws out of 5 wide, but given that he's 19 years old you can't complain about 0 turnovers.
We're gonna have to run the ball better if we want to contend in the SEC. Charles Scott has not looked like the same guy but that's mostly because our line keeps getting their shit packed in when we try to run it up the gut.
Despite this, Keiland Williams looked amazing tonight, with 10 carries for 71 yards and 2 scores. His vision is much improved since last year. He is hitting the hole a lot quicker and finding the correct one a lot more often. His last run was a beautiful 14 yard TD scamper where he made a nice cut off a downfield block to get in the end zone.
Russell Shepard got on the field, and ran for 26 yards, on 3 carries, all out of the shotgun. nd also caught a pass, but the bad part was that he fumbled after catching it. Even with the fumble, it was great to see him on the field, and to see the different ways we will utilize him. He has playmaker written all over him, I thought he was gonna break one ever time he touched the ball. Just a joy of a player to watch, can't wait to see him out there full time.
All in all a very ugly win for the Tigers, and there is still much to improve but we're making progress. Defense only gave up 88 through the air and 220 total.
