College Football Week 8 Gameday Thread

Man! So close. Too many mistakes in the 1st half. The fumble by James Rodgers and the penalty by Keaton Kristick that prevented an interception were too much to overcome. Losing Quizz for a period of time did not hep either. Great game though. USC is really, really good. Next week at Autzen should be a great game.

Ya and we just hit our stride. Now we get to kill New Mexico State before playing you guys. Good luck. I think if we lose again this year (in the regular season) it'll be to Michigan. I dont see us losing to PSU or Iowa.

Lol, we are miles better than Michigan. You lost to Purdue a week ago, that's not hitting your stride.

You, by no means, are just going to stroll into Happy Valley and get an easy win. I think your fellow Ohio State fans (Sportsbuck and Vinsane) will agree with me there.

We hit our stride against Minnesota... lets be real here, there is a big difference between Minny and Penn State, specifically in the talent in the front 7.

Couple that with playing in the most intimidating night venue outside of Death Valley, and it'll be a tough game. It's probably going to be a defensive struggle like last year's game was. I'm hopeful this game serves as Pryor's breakout game as a passer ala Vince Young against us in 2005, but I think this game will probably be a classic Tresselball affair, coupled with field goals inside the 5 yard line and punts from the opponent's 35.

Welcome to VSN, love that you're a Penn State fan. We need more of us around these parts.

We blew that Iowa game cause 1) Galen Hall had a shitty offensive gameplan 2) The offensive line was a mess 3) Iowa exposed Bani Gbadyu, Sean Lee's replacement and 4) we turned the ball over too many times to even have a remote chance at winning.

Iowa beat us, but we beat ourselves more than anything. They are a good team, because they know how to win. They don't have near the talent as a Penn State or Ohio State, but they run the ball and force turnovers. That can always win you ballgames if you're successful in both of those categories.

With Adam Robinson (Iowa's starting RB) out for the season, the chances of them being upset have went up. Off the top of my head, they have Minnesota, Northwestern, and Ohio State left and it's possible they can lose two of those games. If Penn State can win out and Iowa drops two, then Penn State will have an outright Big Ten title and go to the Rose Bowl for the second straight year. I think though if they win out, they will be in the BCS one way or another.
 
It's official. I just ordered my tickets for the Big Ten showdown in two weeks.

Endzone seats, eighth row from the field. Gonna be nice to see a beatdown of Ohio State. ;)
