This also proved the NFL is too watered down. Not enough QB's to play at this level when moves like this are an option for your franchise.

I'd say there are plenty of QBs in the modern NFL. All but 2 teams (CLE and MIA) have their QBs set. Only a few have guys who are still questionable at best (ARI, KC) and a few have young guys they expect to be franchise QBs (CIN, MIN, TB, JAC, TEN, BUF, SEA).

Last year for Sanchez: More passing attempts, more completions, higher completion percentage, better touchdown to interception ratio, better qb rating, add in the fact that he's rushed for more tds last year too. Totally not a reason to give the man his extension.

Not to mention he's got a 9:3 td to int ratio in the playoffs. Oh, and he has 11 game winning drives in 3 years.

(D) Congrats, that helps when you start throwing it to the right team.
(E) whoopty doo, by 3 points....his career rating is still a horrendous 73.
(F) Great, he also fumbled while rushing by almost the equivalent increase as TDs, which also added to his total career fumbles of 29, a ridiculous amount for a QB.

He's mediocre, never said he's better than that. I'd place him around #20-16 on lists, bottom half of the league's starters. Miami still wishes they had Mr. Mediocrity over whoever they're gonna be bringing soon.

Second tier QB in this draft, but because Luck/Griffin are going 1-2 and there are other teams needing a QB, he's obviously going to rise.

BTW - Matt Moore > David Garrard right now. Hell, Henne is better than Garrard right now.

Gabbert wasn't a reach.

But, he shouldn't have started as a rookie...everyone knew that. He was a guy who has all of the talent in the world, but you needed that kid, especially, to sit and let the game slow down on him.

His biggest issue is the game is too fast for him. That doesn't mean it is the end of the world and he'll be a bust, but the Jaguars need to put him in a much better position to succeed...as, they are putting him in David Carr/Tim Couch territory of position to succeed.

Offensive line is a run blocking unit, a good one, but blocking the pass? Not a good unit. They had one of, if not the worst group of receivers I've ever seen, tight end included (Lewis dropped EVERYTHING). Maurice Drew is good, but they have no good runners behind him. Just overall, a shell of an offense that is putting Gabbert in the worst possible position to succeed. Brutal, really, and I feel bad for the kid going to a completely inept franchise right now. They threw him out there and what happened? He rushed passes. The game was to fast for him and instead of remaining cool and calm in the pocket, he rushed throws and often took the dump down and put the ball in the dirt.

He can overcome it, but it isn't a Gabbert problem so much as it is a Jaguars organizational problem. They need to do better to make sure Gabbert becomes the QB he is supposed to be.

Gabbert wasn't a reach.

I think Gabbert was a huge reach. I think he was completely mis-evaluated by 90% of the league. Gabbert had huge problems in the pocket in college and that's his biggest problem now. I thought maybe he should've gone like 3rd or 4th round. None of his problems now are new.
