Umm, ok...

I have the 360 version of the first game. In order to unlock the plasma cutter in the second game you need a save file from the first. Since I am getting the second game for ps3 that would be impossible. So I decided to order the ps3 version of the first game since I have a few $20 coupons for the EA store. I got it for free and only had to pay shipping since it is a $20 game.
I will probably play through the first on again bevause I loved it.

so bottom line, you wasted $20 on a game you already have to get a weapon early? Why the hell wouldn't you just download someone else's save to your hard drive through the computer.

I only wasted $7. I've had these coupons for probably over a year. Plus I will trade in or sell the first one anyway, or give it to a family member.

I originally wanted the PS3 version but when the game came out it seemed to be sold out every time I went to TRU (it was during the B2G1 sale) so I stuck with the 360 version.

Plus I said I want to play through it again so I may as well get some trophies instead of playing the 360 version and getting squat.

I'm selling my 360 version of DS1 to a co-worker for $10 so I didn't lose out on anything.

I really want to re-play it but I'm hooked on Superstars V8 and GT5. Plus LBP2 is coming out this week.

I received an email from the EA Store that they shipped this Friday. Wow. I'd imagine I still wouldn't get it until Tuesday though.

You never know. I've received a few games from Amazon a few days prior to their release date before. I'm pretty sure USPS was the carrier. I guess those dudes don't give a damn about delivering it early.

Either way I probably won't play it for a bit. I'm off Thursday so I was thinking of making it a Dead Space day. Watch the movie and then start the first one again. Eventually I will move on to Extraction, then Ignition and then finally 2.

Is that he correct chronological order?

I'm sure I will get shit from the 360 only guys but LOL at two discs. So the ps3 version gets Extraction packed in on one disc and the 360 just gets the game and it's on two? Wow.

That's the right order, and they're releasing Dead Space: Aftermath, which takes place after DS1, Tuesday.

9.0 Presentation
The game's scary and creepy. The internal Isaac story is awesome. I could've done for a better driving force than that of the Marker.
8.5 Graphics
The game is lit in a way that amplifies the atmosphere and Isaac looks great. Some blocky blood and stiff animations, though.
9.5 Sound
Isaac's voice is good. The score is nearly perfect. The creaks of the Sprawl and moans of the Necromorphs meld for maximum scares.
9.0 Gameplay
Isaac's arsenal and adventure are fun but familiar. Improvements like a stasis refill button and better melee are welcome.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
Multiplayer is nothing special, but the game is a bit more than 10 hours. Different suits, upgrades and difficulties kept me coming back.

how can they say lasting appeal is a 9.5 when the also say MP is nothing special and the SP is 10 hours long. Different suits and upgrades dont warrant a 9.5

i didnt like the demo because the control seemed very lethargic and just didnt feel right. everything else seemed excellent, but if its not fun to play or control then all the other stuff is meaningless to me

Yeah. That seems weird now that there's a number for the length of the game.

Maybe the MP modes are on the separate disc?

Although you have to wonder. Audio is what takes the most space on a disc and Dead Space is known for it's amazing audio. Maybe that's why?

I'd also be a bit surprised if it's ten hours. I'm pretty sure it took me around 15 hours to beat the first one and this game world is supposed to be five times the size. Now I'm not saying it should take 75 hours but I can't see how it would be significantly shorter.
