I'm gonna lol when Titanfall ends up being the most overrated game of all time. The way people talk about it is ridiculous...mostly because it's driven by supporting the fanboi argument for Xbots.

I'm gonna lol when Titanfall ends up being the most overrated game of all time. The way people talk about it is ridiculous...mostly because it's driven by supporting the fanboi argument for Xbots.

I think it's more driven by the fact that no game has ever gotten close to the amount of pre-release awards from every event it's been at and the fact that it's being developed by a proven team that made the best FPS in history.

I'll admit to not being up to date on TitanFall, or even Destiny for that matter, but the "best FPS in history" comment is why. People will suck up to West and Zampella because of that, and I think they could put out a terrible game in TitanFall and still get good reviews on it. They're about as teflon as you can get in the gaming industry.

It doesn't hurt that even after everyone got hands on, if they were able to anyway with the popularity of the game, they all said the same things from the trailer.

If it busts, it will be an epic one.

If this game doesn't feel like as much fun as plowing 3 pornstars on a coke binge, it's going to be a let down. Seen this hype before, it's shitty IMO. Raises your expectations too high....it's just a video game no matter what.

But like I said, a majority of all the "awards" it received were based on videos alone. It was pretty pathetic how much praise was being heapedbin the game when no one had even played it.
So my annoyances about it are simple. The immense amount of hype for what is just another video game. Plus the fact that it literally looks like CoD (quite possibly the most overrated game series in the history of games) with mechs. Everything down to the way the scoring is done and how it is displayed after a kill screams CoD.
The fact that they're basically doing the same thing they've been doing almost their entire developmental career, yet was so secretive and then when it was revealed was showered in adulation.
At least with Bungie they aren't making another space marine game with hover boards.

Even if these awards are given based on the videos, what does it matter when everyone that went hands on praised it just the same, many of them hyping it even more than the trailer? Even if these awards were handed out after the hands on experiences, the results would have been eerily similar.

Ah, did not know about Mechs. Mechs are historically hard to pull off in any video game, so if they even get passable Mech play and have a game that is as addictive as COD, it's going to be a success.
