Do You Agree With Jim Harbaugh's Decision to Keep Points Instead of Penalty?

In Madden I would've took the penalty, waste more time then kick the Field Goal.

I think if it was a different team from the 49ers, then you consider it.. but I wouldn't have much faith in them getting a first down, and then you're asking Akers to hit another FG where anything can go wrong.

Going up 10 in the 4th quarter makes sense. Harbaugh made the right decision.

Shit I ment to vote for B. You have a lead you just made it a two score lead. If you give up the points and either turn the ball over or miss your next FG attempt you give the ball back with only a one score advantage. The old saying about not taking points off the board applies perfectly here. The only time you consider taking points off the board is to get the ball on the 1 yard line.

In reality, the 49ers had Alex Smith at QB, their top 2 receivers out, and their best offensive playmaker basically being an extra blocker. The Cowboys were putting everyone in the box, and basically stuffing Gore all game long.

The 49ers would have ran off 3 minutes tops, assuming Gore or Smith don't turn it over. They'd still had probably needed a 40 yard FG attempt.

I always remembered John Madden saying "never take points off the board" on a monday night game back in the day. But he might have been quoting somebody else, I just remember he said it. And if the football God said/quoted it, then dammit that's what you do...take the points!

I thought the only mistake Harbaugh made was not trying an onside kick on the ensuing kickoff.

He took the points, and elected to take the 15 yards on the kickoff. Kicking off from the 50 gives very little risk if you fail, because you are giving the opponent the ball around their own 40.

But it's also slightly more obvious that you might try an onside kick.
