I've said this before: when the "favorite"-underdog (the underdog that everyone wants to win) gets "questionable" calls against them, they get magnified much more because of who they're playing against (case and point, you point out the fouls on Orlando and Denver, not LA and Cleveland). There were bogus calls on both sides of the ball on both teams. One in particular was when Fisher and Martin tangled up before a jumpball and Martin was called for the technical when Fisher made the first move. They caught Martin's reaction though and called it on him. Later in the game, a similar tangle happened (I can't remember the players at the moment), but the Lakers were assessed the technical and not the Nuggets.




There was ONE specific incident in Dallas/Miami and that was the "backcourt no-call" on Dwyane Wade that got Dirk and Cuban heated. That's mainly it other than the clock running down about 3-4 seconds during a timeout in, I believe, the same game. But, that Josh Howard timeout is all on the Mavs. Other than that, the Heat won the series.

Kings and Lakers series wasn't rigged. Kings vs. Lakers Game 6 was rigged. I wanted the Kings to win that series because I believed that was the best match-up for the Nets to win and the Kings were just flat out better. I also really liked that Kings team. However, Game 7 wasn't rigged. The Kings just lost that game. But let me tell you this: Horry doesn't hit that three in Game 3 (which was tipped to him by Divac), this isn't a discussion. Stern can't rig that three pointer.

You have no argument for Bucks/Sixers. Ray Allen bitched because he played for a "low-market" team, the refs favored the Sixers, which is bullshit. The Sixers were just better than them. The MVP in AI, defensive player of the year in Mutumbo, and 6th man in Aaron McKie. That team was just clicking. AI tore their asses up in that Game 7. People made a huge deal about the lane violation in Game 1 because the Bucks "should have stole one". Oh, and because Mutumbo shook David Stern's hand after Game 4? There's nothing wrong with that, players do it all the time.

That game 6 made me sick . It will probably keep Webber out of the HOF too (pressuming theyd beat the nets which you dont know) . Many say hes a "ship" away from making it

For me, this is what it all boils down to. Try as he might, he can't make the players on the team supposedly getting the favor hit clutch shots.

That said, I don't doubt for a second he encourages the "kid gloves" treatment most of the league's stars get.

I didn't read most of this thread so sorry if some this was already said..

People who think NBA games are rigged are complete retards and are usually fans on the losing side of things. One of the main reasons Basketball is always in discussion for games being rigged is because Basketball is one of the only sports where a player can be ejected because of the number of fouls he committed. In football, an offensive linemen doesn't get tossed out of the game for committing six holding penalties. Most of the fouls that can be committed in basketball are objective fouls as well. You have to remember the refs aren't looking at things in slow motion like you are on your TV. Players are running full speed and a ref has a split second to decide whether a players feet were set for a charge or whether it was a blocking foul.

Do I think star players like LeBron and Kobe get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to fouls? Yes but what sport doesn't give their stars the benefit of the doubt? Back to football again, a ref is more likely to call a holding penalty on a scrub 7th round rookie over Larry Allen or Orlando Pace. In soccer, I'm sure a star player is less likely to get a yellow/red card over a rookie or scrub player. It's just the nature of the game.

I don't personally believe the NBA lottery is fixed but there is no way to prove it is or isn't. Unless someone has proof that it is fixed, it's a moot point and just purely speculation.

The NBA is nothing like the NFL. The NBA has their refs betting on their own games, refs unethical receiving money for league-supplied airline tickets (all of the refs, not just a couple), an EXTREMELY low influx of new refs, and a commissioner who is in bed with the refs. We've had huge labor strife with the umps in the MLB, and the NFL refs still want full-time status...have you ever heard of any labor dispute between NBA refs and Stern?

There are many more red flags with the NBA in terms of 'game-fixing' than any other US league.

In short, he doesn't fix game outcomes, but he doesn't do what he's supoosed to when the situation calls for it...a la suspending Rondo after punching Miller in the face or even after that slinging Kirk Hinrich into the scorer's table...

Yet Rafer Alston gets suspended from a flick to House's head.

He's going to be going in during a time period of a lot of pretty good players, did he seperate himself from the pack enough to be HOF worthy? I really don't think so. Which is sad. I think he'll more or less be someone we can all say we saw play and how his skills were a bit ahead of their time, etc.

God, Game 6 of the WCF vs. the Lakers in 02 STILL gives me nightmares...that shit was rigged like crazy.

Add that to the Horry shot and while that was an awesome series it makes me weep..especially where we are now.
