I'm very curious about this as well. I think the KG for DeAndre trade comes next, and then a Pierce buyout. That leaves them with:
Rondo
Bradley
Green
Sullinger
Jordan
As their starting 5. The problem with this is they can't really do a full-scale rebuild. That team would probably still finish anywhere from 7th-9th in the east, leaving them unable to secure a star in the 2014 draft. Not sure how Ainge would approach things afterwards.

Agreed, but I think there's a 99% chance it's a low lottery pick. The East just isn't very good. Washington, Cleveland, Philly and Toronto are all poised to get better though but at the same time Atlanta and Milwaukee are on declines.
Everyone is heavily underrating the East here. We're talking about 1 maybe 2 teams falling off and 3-4 getting better. Bulls will be back in contention for a top3 seed, Indiana is only getting better, Knicks are a great regular season team, Wizards are already above .500 when healthy and are adding a top3 pick, Cleveland is adding a #1 pick, Sixers will battle for a 6-8 seed if they can bring back Bynum and he plays and there's still the Miami Heat. Hell who knows what ends up happening with the Hawks but they won't be too bad with Horford and Smith + 2 1st round picks and reports linking them to Monta Ellis. Celtics aren't gonna make the playoffs with that roster. They're sitting pretty for next years draft with loads of young talent looking at a top10 pick at the worst + another mid-late first. Especially if they get rid of KG and Pierce.
Edit: not to mention this is a celtics team not being coached by Doc Rivers. This team is gonna struggle. I only hope, whoever the new coach is, he doesn't fuck with the development of the young guys.

This is what I hate about the NBA. It's such a player controlled league, with a very good coach like Doc leaving for a pretty well stocked, overly-hyped team in a large market for a late first round pick in 2 years. This deal is such a microcosm of everything wrong with the NBA. The Clippers get better though, so I'm sure ESPN is happy about that.

Seeing how the NBA is a league that is driven by the popularity of the players this seems somewhat fair.
That can be said of a lot of sports, though. Everyone has better attendance with good, well-known players and they bring ina lot of revenue. But the NBA bends over backwards to keep their star players happy, at the expense of anyone or everyone around them. It's a total joke, and the opposite of any other league. I don't agree with the hierarchy of other sports sometimes and their controlling, ego-maniac coaches, but it makes more sense than the players calling the shots. The NBA let's the inmates run the asylum, and there's very little reason to believe it's for the good. It combines the divas of the NFL with the safety of guaranteed contracts, and it stinks. Howard or Melo can hold an entire franchise hostage, but a good coach like Doc can get run by Rondo to get traded to a team that doesn't need another break for a late 1st. And those late picks change hands like crazy because picks after the top 20 aren't worth a ton and are a total crapshoot.
Rondo didn't run Rivers out of town. You better believe Rivers also didn't want to coach a mediocre team as he had done several years before Boston and before the KG/Allen deals. Rivers is a great coach, but a great coach is only as good as his players and Rivers knew that. Right now Rivers is considered the second best coach in basketball.........if he stays in Boston he loses that title.

If Doc pushed for it, then it makes more sense. I just didn't understand the C's being willing to move him for peanuts, so the Rondo rumors made sense.
