Doc Rivers to Coach the Los Angeles Clippers

If Doc pushed for it, then it makes more sense. I just didn't understand the C's being willing to move him for peanuts, so the Rondo rumors made sense.

Due to his salary the Celtics sort of had to get rid of him.....it really serves them no purpose in keeping Rivers at his salary while beginning the rebuilding process. Besides, Rivers has been silent during the entire process, because he knew he was pushing Ainge to let him go to the Clippers.

Do you even know what "large market" means? They're in Los Angeles, that's the 2nd biggest market in the league.

Calling Los Angeles your home town doesn't make it your market. They share a building with another team that's one of the most popular franchises in the world. The Clippers are barely relevant on LA sports radio. Last year, the Clippers won the pacific division for the first time ever and all I was hearing on the radio was talk about Dwight Howard. That's still all you hear. Doc Rivers is getting a tiny bit of love, but DWIGHT HOWARD: WILL HE STAY OR GO? is still all they talk about. LA doesn't even care about the Clippers.

I'm not a dumbass (apparently, you seem to be). If you think that all or even half of the LA market is dominated by the Clippers then I don't know what to say.

I also listen to Jay Mohr Sports on occasion, but he's been trying too hard so I'm not really as big a fan as I thought I'd be. The Petros and Money Show (PMS) is great. You don't even need to love sports to get a kick out of those guys.

You can get all of their shows free online or podcast. Petros does solid NCAA Football commentary and he's not a USC homer - despite playing RB there. Trust me, I hate USC, but Petros is awesome. Matt "Money" Smith does solid NBA analysis and he's also not a homer. They are pretty critical of LA teams. Outside of those guys... Mostly Lakers homers and a few Dodgers homers. I never listen to the Angels radio guys so I can't comment on them. This last year, Petros and Money have been obligated to talk about the Clippers since they are half decent and the Lakers were such a bust. Money is, far and away, my favorite NBA analyst.

It also helps that Petros and Money don't act like know-it-alls and they're funny as hell. When it comes to other sports they aren't specialists in, say MLB, NFL, NHL, etc. they will defer to expert guests. They give a lot of shit to beat reporters, too - which is fun.

i guess if he can get the clips outta the first round then he's a "success" but honestly i think he's kind of regarded better than he is thanks to having the big three and an emerging star in rondo.

The Clippers made it out of the first round in 2012. Beat the Grizzlies in 7.

Did Boston have a Crawford type player? I think clips need to get rid of Crawford. Get a better spot up 3 pt shooter. The offense stalls to much with Crawford.
