Chiefs traded QB Tyler Thigpen to the Dolphins for an undisclosed draft pick.
The Chiefs were reportedly holding out for a fourth-rounder earlier in the year, but it would be surprising if they got more than a fifth. Chad Pennington's injury left the Dolphins without an experienced backup, so Thigpen will be a nice insurance policy. Since Miami wants to take a look at their quarterback of the future for the rest of the season, Thigpen won't be a threat to Chad Henne's starting job.

Who cares? Quit trying to make something out of nothing.

Thigpen wanted out, and he got his wish. Miami could use a backup, and he's not as bad as they come. Kudos for an alright pickup for cheap.

I LOVE IT! As soon as I saw the thread title I was hoping it'd be Tyler.. who IMO got the rawest deal of any QB last year. Dude was playing pretty damn good for the Chiefs with that spread offense.. I think hes got the tools to be a starting NFL QB with some help around him. I hope he gets a shot to start.

I somewhat like the move but I want to see what he can do. I still want to see both Henne and White receive some snaps. But, with the new addition of Thigpen, White will more than likely be seeing less than snaps than expected. The Big Tuna knows what he's doing, hopefully... Lets see!

Would you really? He was third string on the Eagles and Russel started over him in Oakland. At least Thigpen looks like he could be good one day, Garcia has done good in the past but I doubt hes going to see the field at all this year.

Tyler Thigpen is incredibly overrated. He's worse than Derek Anderson. He had very little starting experience as it is, what 12 starts? His completion percentage down the stretch was not very good as well as his td-int ratio down the stretch. On top of that he played in the spread offense which is known to be a very QB friendly system. Then you look at receivers in kansas city like Dwayne Bowe and Tony Gonzalez, who do they have in Miami?

I can understand if you dont like Thigpen, thats your opinion.. but how can a guy pretty much zero people talk about be overrated?

Maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration but he is overrated. People think he can be a starting quarterback when really he would fail miserably as a full time starting quarterback.

Maybe saying hes overrated was an exaggeration.. but he IS overrated? Lulz.. im just busting your balls, but I dont think Thigpen is overrated. Remains to be seen if he can be a legit starter.
