I'd like to hear you're scouting report on Jamarcus Russel if you have all these negative things to say about Thigpen.
Oh great.
Once again, somebody says something about a player on your team and you have to fire back at them about a player on their team even though the discussion has nothing to do with their team or their quarterback.
You are becoming too predictable.
Thigpen completed 54.8% of his passes last year.
You know who he was better than in that aspect?
Dumbarcus Russell (53.8%) and Derek Anderson at 50.2%.
And he averaged 6.2 yards per completion, so captain checkdown wasn't exactly airing it out even though he was throwing the ball 30 times a game.
He also got stuck on Tony Gonzalez and forced about 15 balls his way every game.
It's funny to me how a guy like Matt Cassel in New England has a pretty good year but everyone jumps all over him about how he is going to suck if he goes anywhere else.
But a guy like Tyler Thigpen who had a pretty shitty year in KC gains the respect of everyone for some reason.
Thigpen threw 18 TDs and 12 INTs last year, that is why people think he had a decent year. He didn't. Tony G had 10 of those TDs while Dwayne Bowe had 7.
The Chiefs threw because they couldn't run on anyone with one of the worst run blocking OLines in the league. So basically, they threw every time they were in the redzone and Thigpen either locked in on Tony G or Bowe every single time (whoever was the primary on that play).
So yeah, I hope for the sake of Miami fans that Chad Penne is better than Thiggy, or they are going to struggle for a while.
