Blows my mind how the media outlets are so fucking scared to flame the shit out of Parcells. If I made a list of the shitty decisions he made here it would be a mile long. Just about every free agent he signed, and about 80% of his draft picks, have been steaming garbage. He was fucking awful...plain and simple. I'm talking Al Davis level awful......(RIP, sorry Al, but you were bad the last decade or so)

It's the legend factor.......no one did it with Joe Gibbs either, but Champ Bailey AND a second round pick for Clinton Portis? Bringing on Mark Brunell and handing him a huge contract? There were a lot less dumb decisions that I wouldn't classify as "steaming garbage" but a lot of Gibbs' moves set this team back. Thing is, no one is going to call him out on it.

yeah, but at least Gibbs had marginally respectable teams and there was still some talent left there when he went back to racing. the dolphins have been complete ass the entire time and whiffed on pretty much every move they've made.
bottom line is parcells is buddies with everyone in the media and the million or so articles praising him are probably all already written for when he gets enshrined. sports media will essentially have a few days off with all the blitz he'll get. even with the cowboys, at the very least he left the team in good shape when he left. His failure with the dolphins was millenesque.

He did have respectable teams. However, to this day, the team has not put together an offensive line that contains depth. The Redskins under Gibbs, and even now with different players, have pretty good starters but nothing behind them.
Gibbs also dealt away the draft picks, which prevented the team from getting younger on both lines, which is key for building any team. Sure, he left the Redskins with talent, but you build up front and we kept putting together patchwork depth and hoped everyone stayed healthy.

No idea if he is involved with personnel, but you know he has to be providing Ross input on how Ireland and others will be doing. Which is another issue, Ireland was a Parcells-trained GM. He's equivalent to being rated 1b for this shithouse with Parcells being 1a.
No way we get a respectable, high profile coach if Ross sticks by keeping Jeff Ireland. Cowher, Gruden, etc. are not going to eat Jeff Ireland's shit on their plate with a knife and fork.
