Well congratulations Bears fans on your victory this weekend. Drew Stanton is going to start and he is disgustingly bad. The Lions have all but said he is terrible yet refuse to cut him. I was hoping for some revenge on your bush league win earlier in the year but that is clearly out the window. Hopefully we're still in it at half time.

We play the AFC and NFC east. Both of which have generally been considered the toughest divisions in the NFL the past few years.

1994 all over again. Actually I wanted the Bears to win in 1994. They had no pro bowlers and I couldn't stand the 49ers.

Except this year we are on pace for a home playoff game and a 1st round bye. 1994 we were 9-7 and a wildcard behind a backup QB and Lewis Tillman. 1994's defense wasn't nearly as good as this one and the offense was worse as well. If anything this is more comparable to 2001 right now. Minus the couple miracle comebacks.

1994's offense was better than 2001. Shit, I think 1994's team was better than 2001's, the Niners were just an unstoppable force.

1994's offense was terrible. They were ranked 24th in the NFL. The defense was ranked 10th.

In 2001 the Bears had the 11th ranked offense and the top ranked defense. 2001 was far and away the better team.

It's arguable if the 1994 team was even better than the 1995 team that missed the playoffs entirely.

dude, I'm sorry, I was thinking the Superbowl team from a few years ago with Grossman/Orton combo. 2001 was the team that got schooled by Steve Smith in the playoffs?

2001 squad is the team that got clowned by Donovan Mcnabb in Chicago after having a 1st round bye.

2005 was the Orton/Grossman combo season. We lost in the playoffs to Carolina(aka got schooled by Smith)

2006 was the Super Bowl season where we lost to the Colts. Orton didn't really play at all. I think he saw some action in Week 17 against the Vikings and that's it.

I'd still take that 2005 team that lost to the Panthers over the 1994 team in a second. Simply because the defense was so dominating(#1 in the NFL) and the running game with Thomas Jones was spectacular.

That 1994 team was so "meh" it's mind numbing. 1994 is easily the worst playoff team the Bears have had since Ditka left IMO.

I agree FT...People think that the Bears best D was the superbowl season....But think it's not even close. That 2005 season the defense was the best I have ever been able to see. (I was 2 in 85). Thats why the playoff loss to Carolina was so painful, cuz they got worked over at home, and Rex gave them 20+ points.

I wish I was high. Are you completely missing the point? I actually liked the Bears once. Actually twice. I liked the 85 Bears too, but who didn't? Well, maybe Pats fans didn't.

I get the point you are making but what makes this team/year different is the NFC is a clusterfuck of suck. Atlanta is the top team in the conference right now and is pretty "meh" IMO. The Bears are the #2 seed and can't block anyone and our WR's suck.

If the Bears didn't win a game the rest of the season I wouldn't be shocked. If they go the Super Bowl I wouldn't be either.

Any team that gets into the playoffs in the NFC has a chance to go to the Super Bowl. In 1994 that wasn't the case...especially with that incredibly marginal Bears wildcard team

Only game all season where the Bears scored 20+ and lost. Don't forget the choice to single cover Smith when they had held Carolina to 3 points earlier in the season. Smith still had a big day then but they didn't let him go off. bama:
