Randy Couture def. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic by KO in 1st round
Cro Cop landed few strikes before Couture successfully shot for a double-leg takedown. Couture dominated from top position for the rest of the fight by moving from Cro Cop's full guard to the mount. Cro Cop gave up his back on a few occasions, but, Couture continued to transition to the mount and exhibit some impressive ground-n-pound before knocking out the Croatian heavyweight.
Tatsuya Kawajiri def. Josh Thomson via Submission (kneebar) in 2nd round
Kawajiri had trouble finding his range in this fight. Landing only 20% of his strike attempts. Thomson had a 3" height advantage which proved advantageous in the stand-up game. Thomson clearly won the 1st round with strikes. In the 2nd round, Thomson shot for a takedown and put Kawajiri on his back. After moving into Kawajiri's half-guard - Thomson attempted to transition to side-control. However, Kawajiri was able to lock in a kneebar submission from his back and score the submission victory.
Matt Lindland def. Tito Ortiz by KO in the 1st round
Lindland exhibited some serious ground-n-pound against Ortiz early in the fight. Lindland was visibly shocked by the early KO. Lindland wasn't throwing power-shots against Ortiz and was simply trying to establish control on the ground and landed a few body shots before landing a single strike to Ortiz's head which knocked him out cold.
Benji Radach def. Demian Maia by TKO in the 1st round
Another quick stoppage in this bout. Maia was unsuccessfully in the stand-up game and landed only 7% of his strikes. Radach landed a few uppercuts that put Maia on his back and Radach finished the fight with a few quick shots to Maia's face before the stoppage. This loss certainly puts Maia furter back in the middleweight division.
