Two weeks ago Schlabach had LSU number one and based it almost solely on the quality of the returning starters, and I think USC was #3. Basically he flipped them based on the perceived strength of each recruiting class, which of course makes no sense for a preseason poll.

Anyway, Schlabach sucks so who cares?

LSU's offense will be tons better than what has been shown the last 4 seasons. we are officially done with the mouth breathers that have plagued the LSU offense. Moving on to an offense that will actually able to be balanced and it will be glorious

And I certainly agree with NAHSTE on Schlabach. One caveat, though, is that LSU not being able to get any of the top four recruits out of the state is a little disconcerting, no? I guess they're all missing that "chest" thing Miles has been chattering about.

Trajectory based on perception is all he mentioned. "GUNNER KIEL JUMPED SHIP AND THREE GUYS WENT PRO SO THINGS ARE GOING DOWNHILL" is basically what he offered as justification for dropping LSU two spots in two weeks. So yeah, he's basing it off of perception.

Anyway I'd love to see a straw poll of D1 coaches on who has the highest quality of returning starters. USC has more (17 to LSU's 12), but I'd say a team that returns 4 500-yard rushers, 4 of 5 offensive linemen and a Heisman finalist is in pretty decent shape with returning talent.

It's not ideal, no, but it won't be a big deal long term IMO. Alabama also lost its top 3 in state guys, one of which, Kwon Alexander, to LSU. The only one among those in-state losses that REALLY hurts is Landon Collins. 'Shiro was basically an even swap with Kwon. The other two guys are also LBs, and we picked up 5 of them anyway.

This class was very solid, despite the perception. LSU isn't going anywhere.

We bring back 19 starters, and our offense should actually be decent for once considering our guys won't be held back by poor strategy, gameplanning, and running every fucking play on a one count.

I'm just very curious to see if it happens two years in a row. 'Shiro's comments on the (perceived) state of the LSU locker room have me interested in where they go from here. OU is in a similar place right now as well.

He won't be missed though being completely honest. He has a better situation at UT than at LSU. LSU was already pretty stacked along the entire defensive line. So much so that LSU has been getting DLinemen to switch position (see JC Copeland)
