Season Pass Details.

What you pay? $25
What you get? A 3 day free(lol ?) early play of games like Madden, NHL and FIFA. You can download the whole 5-6GB games and then they lock upon release day where you have to buy the disc from the store. Your saves n shit will carry over.
You also get a 20% discount on buying virtual coins and other useless EA sports shit.

They've also suggested things like TeamBuilder (NCAA), Creation Centre (FIFA) will be included in this package, meaning future additions to these features won't be given for free any longer.

Map packs I understand.....there is replay value out of that (though I hate that a lot of playlists on COD and Halo lock up if you dont get the new maps.) I even understand it for people who really only play one genre of games (or even one or two games.....there are gamers who do nothing but play COD and Halo.) But that is not a large percentage of gamers. I play a lot of games from Madden to Fallout to Call of Duty to various strategy games. I'm not shelling out money for DLC for all of them. And I most certainly won't pay to get a game early, especially if I have to buy the game on top of it.

The NFL doesnt care if they make good football games. They only care that they are willing to pay a steep price for being able to make these rehashed games every year.

EA is sticking there toes in, testing the waters, seeing how far they can go charging extra. I don't really care about this particular charge because it's optional and doesn't contain anything necessary to play the full game.

I just fear for the future.

I already got one guy I know who is buying it, and mostly because he wants the 20% off DLC shit. To him, getting NHL and Fifa 3 days early is just an added bonus. I tried to tell him that bascally you would have to spend $125 (non discount price) to make that $25 original purchase worth it.

He then told me spent $100 last year on HUT packs, and I just couldn't shake my head enough after that. He asked why I was so pissed about it all, and I said because (in terms of HUT in NHL) that entire mode is no use to me and not because it sucks to play, but rather because people like him spend tons of money buying packs of players, and when I enter a fucking rookie tournament, I'm up against people who have Thoront/Crosby/Stamkos as their first line, while I'm sitting here with AHL scrubs. I played 40 offline games to get a 'base roster' to work with and grow, but I was still so far behind guys who just buy shit, so that entire mode is fucked for me to even play. So I pay my money for the retail game and one part of the game I can't even play.
