Im sure it'll happen eventually, no reason for them not to co-promote other then Coker expecting too much of a cut or something of that nature.

If it doesnt happen its because of Bjorn, Coker has co-promoted with M-1, shared fighters with DREAM, brough Aoki over, his guys have fought in Sharks fights, KOTC, etc...I believe even some of the undercard guys have fought on Bellator cards

But rob, there is a difference between co-promoting, or sending your undercard bums to fight on someone else's show. Coker has nothing to gain by having Alvarez coming in and beating one of his top guys, then going back to Bellator. All this does is give Bellator free pub and make your fighter look bad. Alvarez is a great fighter, and i'd love to see him fight top guys from anywhere, but really, when you talk about these co-promotions, if Coker has nothing to gain other than giving the hardcores a good fight, why do it? Alvarez means shit for business.

If i'm Bjorn, running a struggling business, i'd bend over backwards to make the fight happen, even if that means taking a bad deal. For starters, I believe Alvarez would win. Secondly, it's the best exposure Bellator can ever get. I'm willing to bet 80% of the people who watch SF on Showtime, or especially CBS, have no idea that Bellator even exists.

SF has brought in all sorts of top guys from other promotions for a one fight co-promo deal, so I'm sure Coker would be willing to do it. He's all about putting on big fights win or lose, this isn't Dana White we're talking about here.

In reality having Aoki come over from DREAM did nothing for them, if Aoki won he would go back to DREAM and never return, so he is willing to work with people, Diaz fighting in DREAM did nothing for SF over here, Noons, etc...

I'm sure they worked out a home and home like in College football with DREAM, the same can be done with Bellator, at this point Scott just wants to put on good fights and get fans interested

Strikeforce gains nothing by agreeing to a Gil/Eddie fight.

It's different than when they brought Aoki in. I believe they thought they would have a return fight with Aoki at some point. If Aoki beat Gilbert, so what? It's some random dude from Japan.

I guess it doesn't mean much in the big picture since Bellator is barely a blip on the map, but Bellator can promote their 155er as the king for beating Strikeforce's best.

Technically every Fedor fight is a copromotion. Then of course you have Aoki. Plus, Manhoef who damn near killed one of SF's star fighters. Is Zaromskis still under contract with Dream? If so those would all be some solid examples off the top of my head and they have more on the way.

Frankly, I think both sides may be over thinking their own prowess.

Nobody knows nor cares about Bellator besides hardcores.

If Gilbert Melendez should lose to the Bellator champion, so what.

If the Bellator champion should lose to Gilbert, big whoop.

Get the fight done and let's see the best lightweight fight outside the UFC happen.

Fedor, Manhoef and Zaromskis are each signed to Strikeforce contracts.

As far as Manhoef & Zaromskis, they can still fight elsewhere b/c the deals are non-exclusive (as best I can tell, I'm not sure if they have to seek approval from SF and/or DREAM).
