Guard Eric Gordon will visit the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, the first day of free agency, according to league sources.

Gordon, a restricted free agent with the New Orleans Hornets, will then visit the Houston Rockets on Monday and the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday.

While Gordon hopes to make his decision before his first Team USA practice in Las Vegas on July 6, he also has a meeting scheduled with Portland on July 5 and he may meet with Charlotte and Dallas, sources said.

Gordon is seeking a max contract that will pay him $58 million over four years, and sources say some teams are willing to make that offer.

After drafting star forward Anthony Davis on Thursday, the Hornets are hoping to solidify their young nucleus by re-signing Gordon.

Only 23 and a top 10 sg, he can be a cornerstone for a team for years to come. 58 mill over 4 years isn' that bad.

It depends on how many years you've been in the league, and they factor in All Star/All NBA team appearances and whether you win the MVP or not according to a quick wikipedia skim read.

So the max contract for a fourth year Eric Gordon is obviously going to be different then what the fourth year Russell Westbrook got (5 year / 80 mil), which wasn't even the max he could've gotten.

I really don't see Gordon being the best player on a championship calibur team. I see him like I see Joe Johnson, which is a really good player that would be better served as a #2 on a great team rather than a #1 on a mediocre team. Gordon is a nice player, but he always injured as well.

Yeah, he's probably in that "good player but not a franchise guy" range, and unlike Joe Johnson he's strictly limited to playing the 2. Joe is 6'7 and can post up smaller defenders. EG is more of a one-dimensional scorer.

IMO they shouldn't feel as if they have to resign Gordon, because it's not as if he's known as a franchise cornerstone guy. Eric Gordon is incredibly overrated, IMO. That said, the NBA "market value" of players is totally out of whack. The player's actually ability is the last factor in the equation. Its more based on who is available and how much cap space a team has.
