Everyone's client says that. However, three things should come out of this:

1. His lawyers should be looked in to. Why the fuck would you advise your client plead no contest? Talk about incompetent. Isn't there a way to get a lawyer disbarred for gross negligence?
2. Whatever police investigation went through on this, needs to be re-examined.
3. I'm with Shogun. Throw her under the fucking jail.

Because there probably wasn't any more evidence other than "your word against her's" and when all you have gamble is 5 years (get out of prison when you're 23 and still have your life ahead of you, albeit harder) versus going for the trial and risking a much, much longer penalty... If he didn't take that plea deal he'd probably still be in prison and she might not have decided to contact him. She didn't contact him until AFTER he got out.

Probably, but it's really not the point. The evidence available is the evidence available. No witnesses, his word against hers.
