The situation with Overeem taking his sweet time to fight over here is pretty suspicious. But assuming he is able and willing to fight in Strikeforce, I think Coker is doing the right thing. If Coker strips him of the title that makes it much more likely Overeem will never fight for Strikeforce. He's being patient and giving Overeem every reason to go there and fight, not giving him excuses not to fight. Yes an active belt would add organization and legitimacy to the heavyweight division but I think right now Coker's first priority is putting on big, exciting fights. Overeem is a big, exciting fighter - I'm sure anyone who's said negative things about him in this thread would be in front of the television when he's fighting Fedor/Rogers/Arvlovski/etc..
yeah, I know, thats what I was saying for months now about not stripping Overeem, but if they cant get a solid date for him to fight over here they have to move on at some point, I want to see it, but at some point you can't keep devaluing the HW belt for a guy who cant give you a solid date
he is obviously in fighting shape and has had multiple MMA fights while doing K-1 since the Overeem/Werdum fight fell thru in July
