[360] Forza Horizon

I've played it for about an hour. From what I've played, they did a pretty good job. If the full game is close to what the demo is like, I would be very pleased. The car handling feels good. I was using my Fanatec CSR on 900 degrees with manual/w clutch. It steering is smooth(or rather..closer to what a car of that power should feel like) and the shifting is also smooth. I honestly didn't think I was going to like it, but It's really good.

The off-road race was pretty fun, although I thought the Mustang vs. Mustang race was kind of dumbl. Honestly, the dirt race felt like dirt 3 in terms of handling and force feedback. It worked very nicely. The roads them selfs, seem to be very well thought out. If the rest of the world is like that, i would be happy. In terms of where I put int on my list of games...well...the only other racing game I'm getting are PC sims(Iracing, Project Cars, Rfactor 2) since I'm getting into that. However, I may look into getting this a little further down the road. I don't think I'll be getting it when it comes out. Lets say it like this, if you buy 5-6 games a year, I would get it. In my case, Call of duty: Bops 2, Halo 4, Boarderlands 2, F1 2012, and Forza Horizon. That would make for a pretty good set of games to me.

I bet my wallet would be a lot happier if I only bought 5-6 games a year lol. iRacing is something I'd like to try at some point, but I just don't have a computer to run it (all I have is a MacBook Pro and a pile of crap Dell laptop). I'll be picking up NFS: Most Wanted and NASCAR The Game in the next couple months for the racing genre (along with AC3, Halo 4, Dishonored, Hitman, Far Cry 3 and maybe Medal of Honor lol).

I'm not hugely into it, but I like what I'm seeing with the new game. F1 and sports car racing are my loves, followed closely by Indy. It's kind of just something I watch when no other racing is on.

Yeah I hear yeah. And it's not like I don't like oval racing. I mean..first off, indy does oval, and second, I go to sprint car races all the time. When I have nothing else to watch, I watch top gear, lol.

I played through the demo last nite of Forza Horizon and I still dont know what this game is. I did beat garrett on all his times. :troll:

Honestly Most Wanted will be better then this game IMO.

The point of this game, is to take "real world physics", or rather, forza physics(which to me are pretty good comparing them to real world) and place that system in an open world format. The only thing they have done, is take "real damage" away. You can hit as may things as you want, an the car will act as if you haven't done anything. It will always run like nothing is wrong, even if you smash it to bits. This gives it a more arcady feel, since you can run the car as hard as you want, no matter what. The idea for the game isn't bad. The roads in the demo are awesome. If the rest of the game is like that, put together with all of the cars Forza has....it could be a fun game.

I read that full mechanical damage will be in the full game.

I thought the demo was fun, but got bored after an hour.

It did get boring after an hour, but you really didn't have much to do. Those type of game strive on having a lot to do. The area given in the demo was small. Plus, they only gave like 3 events(6, if you count being able to set a time on the leaderboards).

Sounds to me like being bored after an hour of play on a demo is good. If a demo kept you occupied that long, the full game should be really good

I'm still not 100% sure I'm going to pick this up on day 1. Like I mentioned before, I'll be picking up NFS:MW and NTG:IL on day 1, plus having F1. I may wait until the gaming season slows down closer to Christmas before I pick this up (or a Black Friday deal). Who knows. I'm still 50/50.

I actually liked dirt 2 more. The racing styles in there were better IMO. Hate gymkhana
