Found a new device to charge my PS3 controllers.

My cable box.....

I usually use my Mac to charge up my PS3 controllers but it came to me that I could use my Scientific Atlantic cable box to charge them. It has a usb port on it....sure enough it worked. It is always powered, so the controller is always charging....it seemed that when my Mac went to sleep mode, the controller would stop charging. Now I always have a controller fully charged.

Yeah I do the same thing. Now I got FIOS and a cablebox and use that

Goddamn.......why didn't I think of this?!?! LOL....yea I am gonna start using the TV now, this will free up a port for me to use for GH's Guitar and my External HD.

Doubtful. I'm pretty sure the device with the USB port must be powered on.

Confirmed, it only works on mine with the power on.

Its a usb port. It does the same thing on a mac and computer as it does on a tv and even in your car.

I once used a friends crazy coffee maker to get a charge in my phone since I had to make a call using my number.

The problem is that many of us forget that a device has a usb port on it.....or at least I did.

That sucks....my controller will charge even if the cable box is off because it still has standby power.

Don't know why...I guess the same reason why it won't when my laptop goes to sleep mode.

i'm using my computer as a charger. It plugs right into the USB port on my computer and is charging right now.

Well I've always used my labtob before, but I don't always have it on, and I can't walk around with it when there is a controller attached to it

Don't know why...I guess the same reason why it won't when my laptop goes to sleep mode.

Because it cuts power to things like USB and such to save energy.
