Freeney v Oher this Sunday has some added meaning

Actually you came out and said Oher is playing like the best RT in the league, then posted Peter King's joke rankings and his sacks allowed as if they meant something. FYI, Phil Loadholt has only allowed 3 sacks this year, GOAT?

I'm a big Loadholt fan, and this isn't really a comment on the Loadholt-Oher comparison, but I think the "sacks allowed" stat for an O-lineman is somewhat misleading. Loadholt has a QB who knows how to get rid of the football (Favre), while Oher's QB (Flacco) has a deer-in-headlights game seemingly every other week.

I didn't really even read this thread past what I said in my other post, just going to say that while the Ravens lost the game, it's worth noting that Freeney and Mathis didn't even show up on the stat sheet. No tackles and no sacks.

Part of that is no doubt due to the fact that Flacco has become the new Captain Checkdown with how many passes he throws to Rice.

Flacco is huge, it's hard not to see when someone is coming or where someone is open in the flats.

Flacco is taller then alot of his offensive line.

Houston figured it out and since then every team has done it.

Double Freeney and Mathis the entire game, whether it be straight up double teams or chips, and because our defensive tackles are so weak they can afford to put their interior linemen in 1 on 1 situations because we aren't strong enough to make them pay for it.

When or If this team ever gets a defensive tackle worth something, they'll be something horrific.

It's based on opinion, but I think his 6'6" 250lb'ish self has a better chance of not getting sacked and checking down to a RB, then say... Drew Brees or Doug Flutie. I mean Joe is bigger then Ben Roethlisberger, IMO the king of check downs and tackle breaking.

I don't know if that makes any sense, but that's is how i view it.

No, it didn't make any sense. Roethlisberger is also probably the worst check-down QB in the NFL. He hardly ever checks down. I am in disbelief at your statement. It reminds me of how MrBill said that Aaron Rodgers of the Packers was the king of check downs, when in fact the exact opposite is true.

I guess its easy for people to read stats and manage their fantasy teams, but does anyone actually comprehend the game of football??

yes he is the Right Tackle. However, we often load the left or right sides of the line and put oher/gaither at the respective Tightend spot for blocking.

Ray Rice is 9th in the league in receptions, as a RB! I know the Ravens aren't a team that alot of people watch or get to see, you'll have to trust me on this one. Flacco is in a rut where he's looking to Mason and if he's not open he'll immediately look to and throw to Rice. It's almost comical at this point how often he does it.

I also posted a stat in the Ravens thread that only 11 of Flacco's last 75 passes have been thrown to someone other than Rice or Mason. That is an unreal number to me.

Peter King is a great NFL reporter.
