[ALL] Gamestop/EB Games to stop selling "used" games

I find my business orders will be in usually anywhere from 10 to 2.

Personal orders are literally 9 to 6. It's so odd.

Also all the UPS shipments to here come from a city that is half an hour away so the drivers have to drive at least that half hour every day just to start delivering here. It's really wierd.

Most amazon orders (well when I order from amazon.ca) will come out of toronto which is only 3 hours from here so most overnight stuff is easily obtainable if I place the order before 5pm. If I order amazon.com that shit takes like a week.

Same for my job.....UPS and FedEx are always there between 9:30 and 2:00. I've only seen them come later if its something big, but that is a rarity. I guess business customers are the ones they deal with first, and they fit personal orders in wherever. My guess is that the 9:00 ones are when they couldn't get you yesterday at 6:00.

Everyone should care about Joe six pack. What gs is doing is intentionally misleading and a horrible retail policy. You being smart or patient enough doesn't mean anything. Its the moms dads girlfriends and younger kids who may not have some high gaming awareness getting taken advantage of you should be appalled by.
Why give business to a place intent on misleading??

When I'm paying close to 70-80 bucks sometimes for my normal orders and I want them asap I sure hope UPS chooses me over some guy sitting at home waiting for his $60 free shipping video game lol.

It's on the consumer to protect themselves at some point. Exploiting customers is pretty much standard operating procedure for most big businesses. Me not giving them business isn't going to make them stop.

Can Canadians not read "New" or "Used" on white stickers....do they only understand if they are color coded?

edit: if parents can't read New or Used...those parents also cant tell that yellow is for Used and white is for New.

Leaf has an explanation for everything, so I am gonna quit and just accept the fact that he lives in the most remote part of the Toronto suburbs where UPS doesn't show up consistently.

UPS delivery guy finds him as annoying as the rest of us, and takes his time on purpose :smug:

Yeah, but when they've been using the yellow=used, white =new policy since forever and then just change it suddenly, people aren't going to have a clue.

It's ultimately up to the consumer to know the deal but this is still a super shady practice in a long line of them from Gamestop.

This is that point.
You not giving them business DOES hurt. You telling other not to go there hurts.
They dont magically make money. No business does.

I still prefer Gamestop. They try to maximize profit, and will screw over the ignorant customers, but thats the world we live in. They give gamestop rewards just for buying things there, which have gotten me two free controllers and a coupon for $50 off my next purchase. Ill keep going there regardless since i know what Im looking to purchase there.

Consumer beware I guess.

they dont expire. you redeem them on their rewards site. just print out the coupon for the deal u want.

Everywhere does it so I'm not blaming GS. From BB selling extended warranties on $15 Keyboards/Mouses to car salesmen selling you god knows what on your car If people don't want to inform themselves on things then they have to deal with it.

I deal with this shit every day so I tend to have explainations for everything.

I live 3 hours from Toronto and about 5mins from the border where one of the major UPS branches sits. It's just everything passes through there and doesn't stop which pisses me off.

Or the game warranty. I remember they started doing those when the 360 came out, and it was a reaction to people who found that, if you moved your console while the disc was in (speaking of which, who would move their console with something in the drive anyway?) and it would make a perfect circle scratch around the disc. Never in my life would I get that, but more often than not, I've seen people in front of me get it.

Also, I don't blame Gamestop for this one either, but they stopped giving 360 warranties three years in because they were losing money on them. I definitely bought the warranty on that (because I knew of the issues going in) and bought it each time on those original systems. I went through three, and sold my fourth (the last GS one) and that went out three months after I sold it.

Every company does shady stuff. Bottom line, the consumer needs to educate themselves and be aware of things, whether it is a console or $60 game.
