Went to the local game store today to browse and came out with these for $20 total. Been wanting to pick up The Orange Box for awhile. I'd completely forgotten about Deadfall Adventures. I remember it got shit by the reviews at launch, but the user score on Metacritic isn't too bad plus it was only $10. Figured I'd give it a try.

Which is ironic considering there was hardly any game on the disc and most of it has been added by digital patches.

that game is still one of the most popular games on steam. still gets regular updates. I downloaded it an played it one night. seems like a fun game. free on PC too

yeah that game was I think the first game Valve converted from pay to free to play. The game quadrupled in revenue after the conversion. The game has been updated over 100 times.

Also fun fact - Users have earned $3M by selling items on the Steam Workshop. :runaway:

One of the many reasons Valve is rich and Gabe can do what he wants.

refurbished Asus RT-N66u router. I have spotty coverage on the second floor. I am hoping this improves the situation.

So this router was not an immediate success but after I flashed the firmware on the router with a 3rd party firmware (Merlin). My wireless bandwidth at the furthest point in my house went from 1 mbps to 13-15 mbps…it was super easy as well.

Therefore I will give it a week or 2 before I decide to keep it…otherwise the Apple router goes on sale.

Well I bought it refurbished from Newegg for $70. It has a 60 day moneyback guarantee from newegg. If it takes a shit after that I will eat the $70 loss...probably sell it on ebay for $20 as broken.

I would suggest www.smallnetbuilder.com if you have any router/network questions. Probably way better than any companies customer service.

Well, my issue was (still is) with the AC Adapter, so I'm just speaking to their customer service in general. I'm still within warranty, and a replacement for my model is actually pretty hard to find. So yeah, flash back to 2 weeks ago when they RECEIVED the faulty AC Adapter, and I'm still waiting, after 4 phone calls, 2 emails, and 2 chat sessions, all of which gave me different information or timelines. And the kicker is, it's just a damn replacement.

yeah a good company would send one out ASAP and if you don't send back the broken one within 30 days they charge you. Simple solution....at least for the customer.

Yep. Been saying that basically every chat/email/whatever. I had two Dell's that had Hard Drives bite it, and I had a replacement Hard Drive within 3 days of calling customer service.

In this case, I will likely go 3 weeks without being able to use the product that I purchased, due to their faulty equipment, because of their silly "company protocol".
