Get good with shotgun and you will get plenty of kills. Two piece is a good way to get easy kills (hit them with shotgun and then shoot them once)

To level up you need to earn points. To get points you need to complete a match....the number of points you get is determined by how well you do in the match.

Do NOT quit or you will lose 1500 points!

I haven't played in a while. I got good at hipfiring with the shotgun though. Just take cover, pop out and fire then roll away.

The story mode is fairly long. Its very fun though.

Level up= getting points.
Shooting guys , killing them , downing them . reviving teammates , territory based goals etc all earn various points.

You may not like the game mode but your honest best way to learn to play and kill other guys are games like Submission and Annex. You can respawn and get a hang of the maps and weapon layouts.

Wingman/Execution/Warzone no respawns and much much harder to get good if your just starting.

Private matches against BOTS can be done as well. Horde can get you used to the weapons if youve never played this before.

People always say Shotgun but this isnt gears 1...Getting good with lancer/hammerburst is equally important. Start Lancer then once you get the hang of things HB.

1. Learn how to get in and out of cover. Theres alot of subtleties to it that will help you ALOT.

2. Dont run around alone. Always go with someone , cover your teammates learn to use smoke nades and youll be fine.

3. Patience. Seriously you cant jump , the odds of you taking out multiple guys by yourself arent good , and the cover system/weapons are really unique. Theres a learning curve but once you get the hang of the basics you can get good quick.

Weapons will come with practice. Everyone has there preferences with them.

lol i was the biggest gears fan for the longest time....i got to lvl 60 something and then quit because i realized how shitty the game is. And my k/d was really good so its not that i wasnt good i was amazing...its like it was too easy. and boring. dont think ill ever touch GOW2 again
