Those home games are earned, and if you play in a cold weather city, chances are your team is built for the climate anyway.

Playing the SB in bad weather turns the game into a farce. Teams work hard all year to get a chance to win the title, the players and fans deserve the game to played under the fairest, most optimum playing conditions.

The Vikes moved into a dome partly because for some of their home games it was ridiculously cold and unbearable to the point of danger.

It's fun now & then, but it's just stupid & silly to consistantly play football in sub zero wind chill conditions. You inevitably get an inferior on field product, its uncomfortable for fans, and its dangerous for the players.

Football is a fall sport, no matter how much you guys pound your chest and say RAWR ITS A MAN's GAME, WAR COLD WEATHER, RAWR.

I know New York isn't as cold but I always tell my dad I would prefer to go the night game in late December rather than the 60 degree game in October. IDK maybe it's because I'm younger but I just find the cold weather to be tradition and make a tailgating Sunday more enjoyable.

How many NFL games, by percentage, do you think are played below 40? Below 32?

It dosnt start to get really cold in most of these cities until mid December. Cold weather football is the exception, and a cool couple times per year gimmick. You wouldnt want football played in bad weather on a consistant basis if you wanted to see quality play.

Personally, I enjoy the diversity of cold cities, domes, & warm cities. It's just about the only thing that mixes things up in the current homogonized NFL where every team copies each other. I like that dome teams build for speed & offense, I like that Pittsburgh & Chicago traditionaly build defense & run game first, etc.

The point, is diversity is great in the regular season, because it provides some flavor.

Again, the most improtant sporting event in the world (shut up, soccer dorks) should be played in the most optimum conditions possible, and the possibility of shitty conditions should be avoided.

I just think it's funny that Paul Tagliabue said Atlanta could never host another SB because of the ice storm that hit OUTSIDE THE DOME (Titans-Rams) during SB week, but now Gooddell is open to discuss an open air game in New York. All this while the mid-atlantic is getting pelted by a blizzard that is forcing NBA games to be postponed.

Screw the on the field implications, do you know how logistically fucked it would be to have millions of people trying to travel into the northeast during a February snowstorm? The Hawks and Wizards couldn't even play an NBA regular season game last night, and that probably had 15,000 people going to it...It's just not logistically feasible to expect travel, hotels, etc. to get off without a hitch.

Especially when cities have already been taken out of consideration for bad weather OUTSIDE OF A DOMED STADIUM , because 90% of the Super Bowl is the party/convention aspect, and 10% is the game.

Whether or not you think it'd be cool to see a Super Bowl in snow, think about how much of a logistical nightmare it'd be to get people moving in and out of the city if a blizzard happened. Which, if you haven't been paying attention to the news, is happening right now.
