[PS4] Going "Next-Gen" - NEED HELP

I can only offer insight to the Xbox one. Overall I am happy with it, I use it for gaming, wife uses it for Xbox Fitness. The only complaint I really have is how they have alienated everyone from each other. I don't even look at my friends list because it is so annoying to go to.

Luckily there have been some pretty badass mockups of how it should be on /r/xboxone so maybe Major Nelson will relay those peoples' ideas.

The whole "following" people is really dumb now. Sure, it's great for internet celebrities like the CAG cast crew that can have people follow them but they don't need to friend them back. But for normal players like us it's horrible. I have a Madden CFM going with a handful of people, a few of which were not previously on my friends list. I started "following them but they have no idea that I sent that request, and they are used to the previous system, so they never "followed" me back. It's so dumb.

on 360 you would hit the "Guide" button and go to friends and it would list your friends instantly that were online in alpha order.

On the Bone you have go home, load the friends app, then click friends, then sort by online only or favorites. It takes longer and is a slower process than the 360. That's why people dont use it. I never check any of that shit anymore...which is probably better. I mean who gives a shit what your guys are doing!

see, these are the little things that should be posted when making these bone/ps4 comparisons. most of what i have read here is everything thats front page info. i like when you guys post the little things you gripe about. we need more gripes!

You didn't cover the whole aspect though. Instead of how it was previously where I would send a FR to Maynard and he would accept it and then we woulf be "friends" and both show up on each others lists. Now I submit a FR to you and I just automatically start "following" you, like on Twitter. But unlike Twitter where you get notified that you have a new follower, you don't get shit on the XBone so you have no idea that you have a new "friend". And if by some chance you found out or that messaged you then you still have to submit a request to "follow" them. It's not intuitive in the slightest.

You might have a different experience or opinion. You hated Stanley Parable and I liked it. You might be fine with the friends system and I might hate it.

Go buy one and try it out.

Actually Maynard I am wrong - if you just say "Xbox go to Friends" That will put you directly into the friends list. I never think to do that.

If you don't need one right now, just wait. I have both and honestly still find myself playing more PS3/360 than anything still.

Looking long term, it looks like XBone will have a lot more options as far as an overall entertianment experience. They do have a TON of bugs and issues to work through at this point though. Party chat only seems to work about half the time as this point which is sad. If you just want a console for games, then it's PS4 all the way. PS+ is amazing and it sounds like you prefer the PS exclusives anyway. Plus PS Now is supposed to be coming in the Summer.

I second this. I spend more time on my 360 than my ps4. Although when The Show 14 comes out, that all changes.

I own both and prefer the DS4 over the XB1 controller, was not a fan of the DS3 controller. Idk how big that plays into your decision but figured I'd throw that out there. See if you can go somewhere that you can put your hands on both.

I'm not aware of any affiliate site that looks exactly like the main Amazon page. I have ordered several items from the electronics section of the new VSN site. What is the item that you couldn't find?
