It's not that honest. They start it off complaining that there aren't any new modes and that EA catered to the hardcore fans with the additions to the existing modes(as if that's bad). Then they say Madden Ultimate Team is underrated(rofl, change the name of the mode to "Give us your Money" already EA). Near the end they say that the game has more bugs and glitches than normal and that it's hard to recommend, then give it an 8.5? Which is it? Same shit different year with more bugs or an 8.5? Can't be both.

Basically, they say, its the same game, but lots of holes that will annoy long time Madden players.

If you are a casual gamer, you'll probably like it. If you're a Madden vet, it'll annoy you.

With that, 8.5 sounds like a correct score. The game design and presentation gave it the boost...which are nice.

You earned my thanks on the MUT comment, alone. I badly want to like the mode, but it constantly reminds me that, in order to be consistently successful, I have to buy my way up.

Because as a casual game it'll play allright.

The hardcore people will probably get tired of it and the rating would be lower.

Yeah the only thing that made kicking hard with the thumbstick was the lag playing online games. Occasionally I would miss right or left (NCAA).

Yep. I liked what they did with last year's game but it wasn't properly balanced. I think they found a better balance this year.

The abundance of glitches is rather annoying to hear about, WTF @ invisible players?

that clip they showed on PS3 looked terrible and with more glitches than usual...i think this one gets another pass from me

I haven't read any of the posts in this thread but this review is bad, and written from the perspective of the casual gamer.

You hear him talk about how things like MUT are "cool" (although he later points out how it's more a scheme to generate profit than a mode that's meant to be enjoyable) while glossing over things like the new FA system. Complaining that there's no new big features or game modes. Saying they nailed the gameplay last year :laugh: He does a good job pointing out some of the games flaws, which is further than some of these reviewers are willing to go, but he doesn't seem to care about the same things I do.

And then despite all his beefs still gives the game the standard yearly madden score of a 8.4.

By this first impressions video I just found out you can pump fake to specific receivers by holding down the left trigger and then hitting the receivers icon. That's some 2K5 shit right there. Very good addition imo if the defensive players react to it correctly.
