More specifically, the pokemon franchise is the ALL-TIME re-release master. Theirs what, 12 games out? I think 4 of them are actually different games. Most lucrative video game scam ever.

The thing is, why WOULDN'T they charge that much? I know people that only play FPS multiplayer, particularly Halo. A friend of mine literally has only played Halo multiplayer since Halo 3 came out. That is ALL that he plays. He has no problem dropping 40 for something like this because that is likely the only money he'll drop this year for games at all.

Regardless though, they make it that much because people will still buy it because people love Halo. Who are you to judge the price tag on that? They want to make a profit and I'm sure it will still sell (and if it doesn't, it will go down). It's funny Twigg, you seem to only get mad about the price of games that you either a) don't like; b) don't play; or c) play sometimes because of your addiction but could live without. Who cares? Just don't buy it.

So based on that logic then Call of Duty games should all sell for $100? I mean, people are obviously going to buy them because they love them so much so why should anyone be able to put a price on that, right?

And there have been plenty games that I like that I've said were over priced. Hell, one could say that no game is really worth $60.

I thought at E3 during the video they said it was online with multiplayer, with 7 maps from the original.

My understanding is that the only multiplayer is online cop-op, which is crazy. It's a fucking remake that has been in devolpment for well over a year and the only netcode they could get running was for two player co-op?

Another point that I think is a pretty fair comparison would be if Sony decided to make a remake of the first Killzone game. I know I would like to see it because the campaign was quality although I never played the multiplayer. The graphics don't hold up at all.

If Sony did this no way I would pay more than $20 for it and I love Killzone. Even if they included full multiplayer and somehow added co-op. One remade game isn't worth more than $20 when the standard has basically been set with these two and three game HD remakes at $30 and $40.

And again, I love Halo. Probably nowhere near as much as Pete but I do have a fucking Master Chief Halo 3 CE helmet proudly displayed in my basement. Ha.But this is way overpriced and I buy pretty much everything. Hell, hardcore Halo fans, especially the multiplayer guys, should be livid that they are half assing this remake by not including competitive multiplayer. Everyone thought that was going to be a given.

Yeah, but I like I said, all the other remakes have at least two games in the package, not just one. And I think the only package that has two games is God of War with the Ico/Shadow of the Collosus package coming out sometime in the future.

Agreed.......maps are OK for Reach (still have yet to play online, loved the campaign but I have not played Halo online in a long time) but they really should have added multiplayer with the actual game. It doesn't even have to be to the depth that Halo has gone recently, just something that they can watch and debug it and people can have fun with it.

Yup. That's all I wanted. A fair price point, updated graphics and full multiplayer. They only came through on one of those.

Well, got this today along with AC: Revelations. Needless to say, I've played a lot of ACR but not much of Halo. I did play through the first campaign mission when you escape from the Pillar of Autumn. It was a good time- the graphics upgrade was pretty good, though that is pretty much it. They didn't touch the weapons or anything else, which is good and bad (bad in case of the Warthog driving.....I've heard it is back to being terrible.)

I've played one multiplayer game online so far. There isn't much for it, just Anniversary playlists considering it uses the Reach engine (and you can download the maps free of charge to play on the Reach disc.) It was fun playing Assault on Beaver Creek once again, power-up orbs and all. I hope they get to expanding the playlists soon.

I'll post more comments as I play the game more, but right now it is shaping up to be a fun game.

EDIT: It also uses your ranking from Reach and it moves between the two games.

Let me clarify, if you bought the game. That way, you don't have to swap out discs. Sorry for the confusion. However, they did pick the best maps to use from the original and Halo 2: Beaver Creek/Battle Canyon/Battle Creek, Damnation/Penance, Timberland/Ridgeline, Prisoner/Solitary, Hang 'Em High/High Noon and Headlong/Breakneck.

The price is also $40 if no one had heard about that yet.

No, just act like one. And I honestly don't think this game is going to sell that well at $40. I know Halo is a juggernaut but there doesn't seem to be any buzz about the game at all. I got my copy but only because I got it for $30 from Newegg. $30 seems ok, but not great, for what you get. $40 is definitely too much.

To be honest, Microsoft picked a bad time to drop this game. I understand its the 10 year anniversary, but its a saturated time for games. This is going to be one of those that is overlooked, especially since there was little to no marketing for it.

yes bad timing and that will be its demise but I think you are downplaying the huge community of Halo Fan boys there are out there.

especially since your rank carries over from reach people will crave something different without having to start over from Reach.

This too.....despite all the other games that have come out, and the Reach community, there were 40,000 players online last night around midnight. That is pretty impressive, all things considered, including that a whole lot of people will be playing the campaign first.

I did.....it is priced well at $40, but something was bound to be overlooked with all of the games coming out over the past month, and this game was it. I would expect the amount of people who own this game to double around Christmas time and after as the price goes down.

Don't get me wrong, the little bit I've played, I've had a blast and I plan to get through the campaign once more. But it has taken a back seat to Assassin's Creed and now Saints Row.

I bought it as well. Mainly because my son has been questioning what Halo is all about. Should be fun to play through it with him. Kinda cool to watch him graduate from Lego games up to platforms such as UC and Halo. I played through UC3 with him in about 14 hours. Mainly just helped with the puzzles.
