It's the other way.
well its tax return time and we all know what means: blowing at least a couple hundred bucks on some shit you dont really need but are super happy you got. in fact, i think we should move the beginning of tax season to december, because this is christmas time for me.
I digress.
I've got about a hundred bucks to go towards gaming. two important factors for me:
1) needs to have some depth. I want this money to last for a while. As much as I'd really love to buy Assassins creed 2 for example, im pretty sure ill beat it and put it away (or it might be better as uh, not something i actually paid for).
2) I have a Wii and a laptop. Further specifying the situation, I have a woman who I'm not ready to give a title to, but who will be moving in with me middle of february. Yes, I have hit that, and it was really good. So, buying something that I can play with her is like a major plus. This makes me think games with "Mario" in the title.
sitting next to me, in my peripheral vision from this particular post as I type it, is copies of L4D2 and Super Mario Brothers Wii both still in original packaging with reciept on top. L4D2 is almost certain to be returned to mister best buy across the street, as, i wisely googled it (better late than never) and realized its almost entirely a multiplayer experience, which is fine, but not something im trying to spend my money on right now.
I need a game, or two games, or whatever, that i can pass off onto my non gamer whatever-she-is-to-me, and she can pick it up. I want something that we can at least talk about if not play together.
if i was leaving right now, id stand pat on the mario brothers wii, and return l4d2 for fallout 3. things like Rock Band and DJ Hero come to mind, but im not really sure if both L4d2 and mario wii are worth the sacrifice for fake plastic controllers and songs that ive definitely been drunk and played elsewhere.
So I'm calling upon your social experiences here, or your "this wasnt a game i expected people to like, but everyone ate it up" type stories. I want to get mine (fallout 3 is something i really want, but im not sure if its something she can pick up and talk to me about), no doubt, but if this beautiful woman who continues to sleep in my bed with me is forcing me to search for opinions outside the box so i make sure this mad money is spent right
I digress.
