The Spiderman movies really don't hold up at all anymore and that's kind of weird to say sense they are still only <10 years old.

Im actually starting to understand why Sony wanted a reboot.

I agree. I thought it was so badass, then you rewatch it and see the corny music and the awful acting of James Franco in that movie. Its so cliched to say it, but that franchise, looking back, just never went dark and gritty enough. it didnt have to be Batman gritty, but the entire trilogy was so lighthearted. WHich is why The AMazing spiderman will be amazing.

I like the first 2 Spideys, the 2nd way better than the 1st. Didn't like the 3rd. I thought the tone was fine. I've read lots of Spiderman comics. They were rarely "dark and gritty". The only times they really went that route that I remember are when Juggernaut put Aunt May in the hospital (he killed someone else close to Spiderman, but I can't remember who right this sec) and of course, the whole symbiot/Venom thing which the 3rd movie completely botched. If the new movie does get all serious then they have to be careful. Anxious to see how it turns out.

...and yes James Franco was horrendous in all 3...and Flyboys...and everything else I've seen him in except 127 Hours.

I own this movie and have seen it a lot but I have to agree with Dell. Does not hold up after the third or fourth viewing. It drags way too much between the second and third act and the jokes begin to fall flat. The best parts of that movie are the first 30 minutes and any scene with Danny McBride.

Whiny brat throws a temper tantrum and runs away to prove a point. Problem is he doesn't actually have a point and is just being a jackass that refuses to communicate with his parents because they might ask him a tough question like "wtf is wrong with you". Has some fun, lives like a nomad, picks the dumbest place to settle, does something even dumber and dies. Its completely pointless unless they wanted to make the point that when you do stupid shit stupid shit happens to you.

Dell you know I gotta groan you for Dr Strangelove, no hard feelings, saying Donnie Darko is overrated is one thing, but no way on Dr Strangelove.

The only people I know personally that didn't like Bridesmaids are the kind of people that are uncomfortable with women acting out and, you know, being funny.

Women really aren't that funny 99% of the time, and Bridesmaids was no different. Steaming pile of unfunny shit.
