How much can we read into their total domination of the Bears? I didn't think the Bears were THAT bad, but the Bears defense gave one of the lamest efforts I've ever seen. They gave up nearly 200 yards to Cedric Benson. Ugh.

Carson Palmer has always been pretty good, but I can't believe how much stronger the Bengals are in the offensive and defensive lines. Is it possible that the AFC North gets both wildcards?
 
They always had talent on offense, but IMO, they're a lot tougher on defense. They seem to have an new attitude this season.
 
With their ability to run the ball, they are pretty damn legit. Benson's ability to run right at defenders and gain solid yards is hard to stop, even against good defenses.
 
They should be 5th or 6th seed in the AFC. The defense is a little too young for me to say they are completely dominant, but that offense can light it up in a hurry now that Caldwell is emerging. The Bengals top four WR's could probably compete vs. anyone else in this league, and add in a great running game lately and it's tough to stop.
 
The Bengals are playing like a playoff team right now.

They really should only have 1 loss under their belt as they deserved to beat the Broncos.

That said, they are 5-2 and have only played 1 team under .500. Wins over division rivals like Baltimore and Pittsburgh prove that they are a good team and the close loss to the undefeated Broncos further supports that.

Obviously, a lot can happen as we haven't even gotten through half of the season yet, but the Bengals are fully capable of making the playoffs right now.

They have a Top 10 QB and WR corps to go along with one of the best running games in the league and a top 10 defense. No reason to think that they aren't capable of making the playoffs right now.

10 Nov 15 @ PIT - Toss Up/Underdog

11 Nov 22 @ OAK - Win

12 Nov 29 CLE - Win

13 Dec 6 DET - Win

14 Dec 13 @ MIN - Toss Up/Underdog

16 Dec KAN - Win

17 Jan 3 @ NYJ - Favored

They should win at least 4 games of their next 8 and could possibly win 6 to put them anywhere between 9-7 and 11-5.

I'm pulling for the Bengals this year because of Hard Knocks. Most of the guys on the team seemed pretty likeable. Its also nice to see Carson back in top form and Ochocinco rebounding from a pretty mediocre season last year.
 
Their defense is strong, their running game is strong, and its helping take some pressure off Carson and hes flourishing. They aint going to get the gift of playing the abysmal Bears secondary every week but they have the ability to grind out games and beat some of the top teams in the AFC. I dont know how much damage they're gonna do in the playoffs, if they get there, but I give them as good a chance as anyone in their division.

I dont think both wildcards will come from the afc north, the ravens d is not what it was and that will cost them down the stretch. the bengals are better, but they are escaping close games against good teams and that wont last.

Not to make excuses but our defense is completely depleted/on the decline anyway.

Everybody is starting to age, and almost every position is being filled in with sub-par young players/rookies.

Lance Briggs is the only shining spot on our defense right now.

aka our defense sucks.

Cleveland must be pumping Benson with A-Rod's leftover pills. Because he is actually playing inspired as opposed to lack-luster/bumfucky in Chicago.
