How good are the Bengals?

I've been a Bengals fan since I was like 3 years old... and I'm loving this season. I still remember being at the game where Corey Dillon set the single game rushing record at 278, so to see us finally having success is pretty good.

Biggest difference between this year and past years is the defense, hands down.

They really should only have 1 loss under their belt as they deserved to beat the Broncos.

That said, they are 5-2 and have only played 1 team under .500. Wins over division rivals like Baltimore and Pittsburgh prove that they are a good team and the close loss to the undefeated Broncos further supports that.

Obviously, a lot can happen as we haven't even gotten through half of the season yet, but the Bengals are fully capable of making the playoffs right now.

They have a Top 10 QB and WR corps to go along with one of the best running games in the league and a top 10 defense. No reason to think that they aren't capable of making the playoffs right now.

They are very good, a lot better than what they were expected to be, and have an unbelievable breakout performance at RB. Reminds me a lot of last year's Falcons.

Like them, I think they'll eventually get exposed a bit in the playoffs, assuming they make it, but for now, enjoy the ride Cincinnati. I'm happy to see them 5-2 after watching them on Hard Knocks. A lot of people have sort of adopted them as the feel-good team of the year, myself included. I really don't think they can beat Indy, New England or Pittsburgh in the post season though.

Even still.. itd be flat out shocking if the linesmakers have the Bengals as favourites on the road against the Chargers. The Jets.. maybe.
