Based on that question, none of them.

In their prime they would have their head so far up their arse you wouldn't be able to hold a decent conversation with them anyway. Plus they would be surrounded by yes men and fawning acolytes and most likely sedated up to the eyeballs so the whole thing would be a futile attempt.

I'd rather speak to them either well before their prime, when they are young and still have fire in their belly or much later on when they have a chance to reflect on their career with a bit of introspection and clarity.

It indeed is a scary experience. I've met my fair share of musicians and i've carried long dialogues with plenty. I once had a conversation with someone who was in a band I deeply admired and we just missed each other on every level. It just fucked the whole situation up. And then I was unable to listen to their music, and to this day, when I hear their music it still stings. He wasn't a jerk or anything either, but I still think to myself "Why did I do that?".

Anyway, the coolest/nicest and one I related to the most was Mike Kinsella. And I wouldn't be surprised if most of you have never heard of him. Mike Ness is also up there.

Nonetheless, I'd still love to meet Strummer, Lennon, Cash and you could also throw Morrissey on my list.
