Round One
1. Indianapolis Colts - Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford - We have known what this pick was going to be once the Colts locked up the top pick. The Peyton Manning era has come to an end. The Colts take the QB who some call a more athletic Peyton Manning. Luck is a very rare prospect, and the Colts would be ecstatic to have the opportunity to be great for another decade.
2. Washington Redskins (from St. Louis) - Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor - The QB play has been terrible for Washington the past two seasons. You have to at minimum have a good QB to do something in this NFL. Griffin is much better then good, and if it wasn't for a prospect like Luck, Griffin would be regarded as the best QB prospect since John Elway. When you have the opportunity to get a potential franchise QB, you have to take it.
3. Minnesota Vikings - Matt Kalil, OT, USC - There are some rumors right now that Minnesota is either looking to trade this pick or pass on Kalil for Claiborne. Unless Minnesota gets a ridiculous offer this pick won't be traded, and I think the Claiborne talk is a smoke screen. Charlie Johnson is a horrible LT, and the Vikings offensive line as a whole isn't anything special. Kalil will be a stud LT in this league, and will start from day one. Christian Ponder will be a very happy man.
4. Cleveland Browns - Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama - I have gone back and forth on this pick whether it be Blackmon or Richardson, but I'm sticking with Richardson in this version. I'm not buying the Tannehill talk. Cleveland wouldn't be looking to trade this pick if they were interested in taking Tannehill at four. Running back's usually don't go this high in today's NFL, but Richardson is an excellent prospect, and he also fills a need.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU - If Cleveland passes on Richardson I think the Bucs will take him, but I don't see that happening. Aqib Talib will be off this team withing the coming months. This will be Ronde Barber's last year. Eric Wright is at best an average number two Cornerback, and that's pushing it. Claiborne is the best defensive prospect in the draft, and would be a perfect pick for Tampa Bay.
6. St. Louis Rams - Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State - There is some talk that the Rams are interested in trading up to take Trent Richardson, but I'm not sure they will be willing to give up more than a 1 & 3 to do it, so I don't see it happening. It's tough for a QB to succeed when he doesn't have much to throw to. Blackmon isn't going to solve all of the offensive woes for St. Louis, but it is a step in the right direction. I also wouldn't be shocked if the Rams were to trade this pick to a team looking to acquire the rights to Ryan Tannehill.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars - Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina - I think Jacksonville ends up trading this pick to a team looking to trade up for Tannehill, but I have no idea what that trade will be, so let's assume Jacksonville keeps this pick. Coples is a better talent, but there are questions about his work ethic. Ingram isn't quite the talent Coples is, but it's not by much. Ingram should be the finial piece to Jacksonville's young defensive line.
8. Miami Dolphins - Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M - The Dolphins have been looking for a franchise QB since Dan Marino retired. Tannehill has the talent to be a franchise QB, but he isn't ready to play from the start. Matt Moore is a better option then Tannehill is right now, and I see Moore starting the season as the starter. I think around the halfway mark the Dolphins make the switch to Tannehill if the Dolphins are out of playoff contention.
9. Carolina Panthers - David DeCastro, OG, Stanford - My first surprising pick in this mock. While Carolina needs secondary and defensive line help more, they could also use some offensive guard help. Carolina has started multiple guards over the past couple of seasons, and they have yet to find a formidable option. DeCastro will help alleviate that problem bu being an All-pro caliber guard for the next decade.
10. Buffalo Bills - Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa - Buffalo needed Tackle help before they lost Demetress Bell, and now it is even more dire. Considering how weak the Tackle position is right now for the Bills, he could very well be the day one starter at Left Tackle.
11. Kansas City Chiefs - Luke Kuechly, ILB, Boston College - Jovan Belcher is a quality starter next to Derrick Johnson, but he's nothing special. Kuechly should be able to overtake Belcher fairly quickly, and will form one of the most fearsome ILB duo's along with Derrick Johnson.
12. Seattle Seahawks - Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina - Seattle signed Jason Jones in free agency to help their pass rush, but he's only on a one-year deal, and they need more than just him. Seattle likes big versatile Defensive Linemen, and Coples fits the bill at 6'6", 284lbs.
13. Arizona Cardinals - Cordy Glenn, OT/OG, Georgia - Arizona has needed Offensive Line help for years, but they have never done anything about it. That probably means they won't do anything again, but I'm hoping they change that mindset. Cordy Glenn will be the immediate starter at RT, and can move inside if that doesn't work out.
14. Dallas Cowboys - Fletcher Cox, DE/DT, Mississippi State - Dallas addressed the Cornerback position with the signing of Brandon Carr. They also made some short term solutions on the Offensive Line in free agency. The Defensive Line is still an issue though. Cox's versatility and pass rushing ability will be a big step to fixing the Cowboys' woes along the Defensive Line.
15. Philadelphia Eagles - Michael Brockers, DT, LSU - Philly needs some youth and a long term solution at the Defensive Tackle position. Brockers has a lot of potential, but isn't ready yet. He'll start out in a rotational role, and should be a full time starter in 2013
16. New York Jets - Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame - Santonio Holmes is the only good Receiver on the Jets (Kerley is solid, but let's not get ahead of ourselves). If they truly believe in Sanchez like they claim to be, they need to provide him some weapons. Floyd will make an immediate impact to the Jets offense, and should make life a little easier for Sanchez.
17. Cincinnati Bengals - Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama - Jason Allen is solid as a third Cornerback, but that's it. Terence Newman will give the Bengals nothing. The Bengals need to find a long-term and short-term option opposite of Leon Hall, and Kirkpatrick is that. Kirkpatrick's combination of size and speed for a CB is pretty rare. Kirkpatrick will be a huge upgrade for Cincinnati's secondary.
18. San Diego Chargers - Mark Barron, S, Alabama - San Diego needed a Safety upgrade before Steve Gregory left, and now they need it more. The Chargers add the top Safety in this year's draft class.
19. Chicago Bears - Whitney Mercilus, DE, Illinois - The Bears are looking for another Defensive End to put pressure on the Quarterback. I'm not a fan of Mercilus, but there is a lot of people that do like him.
20. Tennessee Titans - Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis - Tennessee is looking for Defensive Tackle help and they get it here. It will take a while for Poe to develop, but he can become a force once he does.
21. Cincinnati Bengals - Nick Perry, DE, USC - The Bengals brought in Jamaal Anderson and Derrick Harvey, but those are depth moves. Michael Johnson should only be used on passing downs, so the Bengals need to develop a 3-down DE across from Dunlap. Perry won't be that right away, but he should eventually become that.
22. Cleveland Browns (from Atlanta) - Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor - Cleveland has one of the worst receiving corps in the NFL. Wright will be the starter across from Greg Little.
23. Detroit Lions - Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina - I don't understand the Gilmore hype, but it is what it is. Detroit desperately needs Cornerback help, and they get it here.
24. Pittsburgh Steelers - Alameda Ta'amu, NT, Washington - Pittsburgh has slowly been preparing for their defensive line of the future (Ziggy Hood in 2009 and Cameron Heyward in 2011). Ta'amu would be the final piece to the eventual defensive line.
25. Denver Broncos - Brandon Thompson, DT, Clemson - Defensive Tackle is a dire need for Denver with the loss of Brodrick Bunkley and now the holdout of Marcus Thomas. Thompson is more of a run oriented DT who can also take on blockers and allow the Ends to do the pass rushing.
26. Houston Texans - Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford - Tight End isn't necessarily a need for Houston, but they just lost Joel Dreessen and Owen Daniels has injury concerns. I expect Houston to run more two tight end sets with no true fullback on the roster. I could also see Fleener seeing some time at WR.
27. New England Patriots (from New Orleans) - Courtney Upshaw, DE/OLB, Alabama - The Patriots lost Mark Anderson in free agency. Andre Carter is coming off a quad injury, and may not be brought back. The Patriots need to find a pass rusher, and they do so here. Upshaw is horrible in coverage, but the Patriots can use him where he won't be asked to do that.
28. Green Bay Packers - Shea McClellin, OLB/DE, Boise State - Green Bay has struggled to get a pass rush opposite of Clay Matthews. McClellin is one of the draft's more underrated prospects, and I could see him possibly going in the top 20.
29. Baltimore Ravens - Amini Silatolu, OG, Midwestern State - Baltimore lost Ben Grubbs in free agency, and doesn't have a true in house replacement. Silatolu is a mauler, and should be a great Guard in the NFL.
30. San Francisco 49ers - Peter Konz, C/OG, Wisconsin - San Francisco has a hole at Guard with the loss of Adam Snyder in free agency. Konz can start out at RG, and move over to Center once the Niner move on for Jonathan Goodwin.
31. New England Patriots - Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech - New England signed a few receivers in free agency, but Lloyd will probably be the only one to make the roster. New England still needs to add youth the Wide Receiver. Hill will be asked to only be a deep threat his first year or two while he develops.
32. New York Giants - Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford - The Giants are looking for long-term options at LT and RT. Martin should be able to solve one of those issues.
Round Two
33. St. Louis Rams - Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama - Jenkins has first round talent, but character issues push him into the second round. St. Louis added Cortland Finnegan, but that's not enough. Jenkins should be the starter across from him.
34. Indianapolis Colts - Rueben Randle, WR, LSU - With the loss of Pierre Garcon in free agency, the Colts need to add a new piece. Randle would probably be a surefire first rounder if he had better QB play at LSU.
35. Minnesota Vikings - Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina - The Vikings need to add some weapons if Christian Ponder is going to succeed. That starts here.
36. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Doug Martin, RB, Boise State - Tampa Bay is looking for another Running Back to pair along with LeGarrette Blount as they go to a more ground based attack.
37. Cleveland Browns - Josh Robinson, CB, Central Florida - Cleveland needs another Cornerback across from Joe Haden, as Sheldon Brown is on the decline.
38. Jacksonville Jaguars - Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers - The addition of Laurent Robinson isn't going to fix the Jaguars receiving woes. Sanu should be a solid number two in the NFL.
39. St Louis Rams (from Washington) - Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State - Jason Smith has been a bust, and Roger Saffold is best suited for the right side. St. Louis takes who they hope can be their Left Tackle.
40. Carolina Panthers - Devon Still, DT, Penn State - Carolina has been looking for an interior presence on the Defensive Line for years. With Carolina expected to play more of a multiple defense, Still is a very good fit.
41. Buffalo Bills - Lavonte David, OLB, Nebraska - As the Bills transition to a 4-3, they need personnel to fit the scheme. It wouldn't shock me if Daivd went in the first round.
42. Miami Dolphins - Bobbie Massie, OT, Ole Miss - The Dolphins are looking for a Right Tackle. Miami currently doesn't have anything at RT, so he should be the day one starter.
43. Seattle Seahawks - Mychal Kendricks, MLB, California - Seattle lost David Hawthorne in free agency. Kendricks should be the starter right away.
44. Kansas City Chiefs - Brandon Weeden, QB, Oklahoma State - Matt Cassell isn't the answer for the Chiefs at QB. I could see Weeded taking over in the middle of the season if Cassell struggles.
45. Dallas Cowboys - Harrison Smith, S, Notre Dame - Brodney Pool is only a short term option at Safety for the Cowboys. Smith will be the long-term SS in Dallas.
46. Philadelphia Eagles - David Wilson, RB, Virginia Tech - Wilson probably won't fall here, but this is just how this mock turned out. Wilson will be a very nice backup to LeSean McCoy.
47. New York Jets - Andre Branch, DE/OLB, Clemson - The Jets desperately need pass rush help. Branch would instantly be the Jets best pass rusher.
48. New England Patriots (from Oakland) - Lamar Miller, RB, Miami (FL) - I'm not sure if the Patriots believe in Shane Vereen and they need more then Stevan Ridley. Lamar Miller could be a premier back in the NFL.
49. San Diego Chargers - Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin - San Diego has had problems at RG the past two seasons, and now they have a problem at LG with the retirement of Kris Dielman. Zeitler will be a day one starter.
50. Chicago Bears - Trumaine Johnson, CB, Montana The Bears are looking for depth at the Cornerback position. Johnson should push Tim Jennings for the number two Cornerback job.
51. Philadelphia Eagles (from Arizona) - Brock Osweiler, QB, Arizona State The Eagles don't have a long-term option at QB. The Eagles can afford to use an early pick on a developmental Quarterback.
52. Tennessee Titans - Alfonzo Dennard CB, Nebraska Tennessee is looking for another Cornerback with the loss of Cortland Finnegan in free agency.
53. Cincinnati Bengals - Brian Quick, WR, Appalachian State With Jerome Simpson's off the field issues and the loss of Andre Caldwell in free agency, the Bengals need another receiver. Quick could be a starter if Simpson isn't resigned.
54. Detroit Lions - Chandler Jones, DE, Syracuse Detroit is looking for someone who can take over for Kyle Vanden Bosch in a year or two. Jones has a lot of hype around him right now, and may sneak into the first round.
55. Atlanta Falcons - Kelechi Osemele, OT/OG, Iowa State Atlanta's Offensive Line took a major step back last season. Osemele should help bring Atlanta's O-Line to dominance once again.
56. Pittsburgh Steelers - Dont'a Hightower, ILB, Alabama My biggest surprise in this mock. Hightower could very well be drafted by the Steelers in the first round. I think his inefficiencies in coverage will push Hightower into the second round.
57. Denver Broncos - Jayron Hosley, CB, Virginia Tech Take away Champ Bailey, and Denver arguably has the worst secondary in the league. Hosley will be a major improvement to this team's secondary.
58. Houston Texans - Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State Houston still needs a NT for the 3-4. Worthy isn't a traditional Nose Tackle, but I think he can get it done.
59. Green Bay Packers - Kendall Reyes, DE/DT, Connecticut Green Bay's Defensive Line took a major step backward last season with the loss of Cullen Jenkins. Kendall Reyes should solve that problem.
60. Baltimore Ravens - Vinny Curry, OLB/DE, Marshall Baltimore is looking for someone to replace Jarret Johnson. Vinny Curry will at the very least be in on third downs to rush the QB.
61. San Francisco 49ers - Brandon Boykin, CB, Georgia San Francisco doesn't have many needs, but Cornerback depth is one of them. Boykin should solve that issue.
62. New England Patriots - Markelle Martin, S, Oklahoma State The Patriots just signed Steve Gregory, but he's more of a backup. Martin would see significant playing time in New England.
63. New York Giants - Zach Brown, OLB, North Carolina Michael Boley is moving over to MLB, and Keith Rivers may only be in New York for a year. If the Giants decide to go with a small Linebacking corp, Brown could be a starter.

33. St. Louis Rams - Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama - Jenkins has first round talent, but character issues push him into the second round. St. Louis added Cortland Finnegan, but that's not enough. Jenkins should be the starter across from him.
34. Indianapolis Colts - Rueben Randle, WR, LSU - With the loss of Pierre Garcon in free agency, the Colts need to add a new piece. Randle would probably be a surefire first rounder if he had better QB play at LSU.
35. Minnesota Vikings - Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina - The Vikings need to add some weapons if Christian Ponder is going to succeed. That starts here.
36. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Doug Martin, RB, Boise State - Tampa Bay is looking for another Running Back to pair along with LeGarrette Blount as they go to a more ground based attack.
37. Cleveland Browns - Josh Robinson, CB, Central Florida - Cleveland needs another Cornerback across from Joe Haden, as Sheldon Brown is on the decline.
38. Jacksonville Jaguars - Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers - The addition of Laurent Robinson isn't going to fix the Jaguars receiving woes. Sanu should be a solid number two in the NFL.
39. St Louis Rams (from Washington) - Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State - Jason Smith has been a bust, and Roger Saffold is best suited for the right side. St. Louis takes who they hope can be their Left Tackle.
40. Carolina Panthers - Devon Still, DT, Penn State - Carolina has been looking for an interior presence on the Defensive Line for years. With Carolina expected to play more of a multiple defense, Still is a very good fit.
41. Buffalo Bills - Lavonte David, OLB, Nebraska - As the Bills transition to a 4-3, they need personnel to fit the scheme. It wouldn't shock me if Daivd went in the first round.
42. Miami Dolphins - Bobbie Massie, OT, Ole Miss - The Dolphins are looking for a Right Tackle. Miami currently doesn't have anything at RT, so he should be the day one starter.
43. Seattle Seahawks - Mychal Kendricks, MLB, California - Seattle lost David Hawthorne in free agency. Kendricks should be the starter right away.
44. Kansas City Chiefs - Brandon Weeden, QB, Oklahoma State - Matt Cassell isn't the answer for the Chiefs at QB. I could see Weeded taking over in the middle of the season if Cassell struggles.
45. Dallas Cowboys - Harrison Smith, S, Notre Dame - Brodney Pool is only a short term option at Safety for the Cowboys. Smith will be the long-term SS in Dallas.
46. Philadelphia Eagles - David Wilson, RB, Virginia Tech - Wilson probably won't fall here, but this is just how this mock turned out. Wilson will be a very nice backup to LeSean McCoy.
47. New York Jets - Andre Branch, DE/OLB, Clemson - The Jets desperately need pass rush help. Branch would instantly be the Jets best pass rusher.
48. New England Patriots (from Oakland) - Lamar Miller, RB, Miami (FL) - I'm not sure if the Patriots believe in Shane Vereen and they need more then Stevan Ridley. Lamar Miller could be a premier back in the NFL.
49. San Diego Chargers - Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin - San Diego has had problems at RG the past two seasons, and now they have a problem at LG with the retirement of Kris Dielman. Zeitler will be a day one starter.
50. Chicago Bears - Trumaine Johnson, CB, Montana The Bears are looking for depth at the Cornerback position. Johnson should push Tim Jennings for the number two Cornerback job.
51. Philadelphia Eagles (from Arizona) - Brock Osweiler, QB, Arizona State The Eagles don't have a long-term option at QB. The Eagles can afford to use an early pick on a developmental Quarterback.
52. Tennessee Titans - Alfonzo Dennard CB, Nebraska Tennessee is looking for another Cornerback with the loss of Cortland Finnegan in free agency.
53. Cincinnati Bengals - Brian Quick, WR, Appalachian State With Jerome Simpson's off the field issues and the loss of Andre Caldwell in free agency, the Bengals need another receiver. Quick could be a starter if Simpson isn't resigned.
54. Detroit Lions - Chandler Jones, DE, Syracuse Detroit is looking for someone who can take over for Kyle Vanden Bosch in a year or two. Jones has a lot of hype around him right now, and may sneak into the first round.
55. Atlanta Falcons - Kelechi Osemele, OT/OG, Iowa State Atlanta's Offensive Line took a major step back last season. Osemele should help bring Atlanta's O-Line to dominance once again.
56. Pittsburgh Steelers - Dont'a Hightower, ILB, Alabama My biggest surprise in this mock. Hightower could very well be drafted by the Steelers in the first round. I think his inefficiencies in coverage will push Hightower into the second round.
57. Denver Broncos - Jayron Hosley, CB, Virginia Tech Take away Champ Bailey, and Denver arguably has the worst secondary in the league. Hosley will be a major improvement to this team's secondary.
58. Houston Texans - Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State Houston still needs a NT for the 3-4. Worthy isn't a traditional Nose Tackle, but I think he can get it done.
59. Green Bay Packers - Kendall Reyes, DE/DT, Connecticut Green Bay's Defensive Line took a major step backward last season with the loss of Cullen Jenkins. Kendall Reyes should solve that problem.
60. Baltimore Ravens - Vinny Curry, OLB/DE, Marshall Baltimore is looking for someone to replace Jarret Johnson. Vinny Curry will at the very least be in on third downs to rush the QB.
61. San Francisco 49ers - Brandon Boykin, CB, Georgia San Francisco doesn't have many needs, but Cornerback depth is one of them. Boykin should solve that issue.
62. New England Patriots - Markelle Martin, S, Oklahoma State The Patriots just signed Steve Gregory, but he's more of a backup. Martin would see significant playing time in New England.
63. New York Giants - Zach Brown, OLB, North Carolina Michael Boley is moving over to MLB, and Keith Rivers may only be in New York for a year. If the Giants decide to go with a small Linebacking corp, Brown could be a starter.
