Have you seen a leaked version of the movie? Don't see where you got that conclusion from. Tony Stark/Iron Man is arguably the face of the Avengers and the Marvel Movie Universe they have been building. Largely because of how well Robert Downey Jr. plays the character.

So I saw the movie today. It has such a different feel to it than the other 2, and really any of the other movies in the MCU. Like it feels so different, that I'm still not really able to compare it to the other 2 Iron Man movies. It was good, I definitely enjoyed it. I wont spoil anything for you who haven't seen it or read spoilers, but I think I can see where the people who are into the comics have a problem with a part of this movie, and it felt a little weird even to me. As for the whole Tony Stark/Iron Man being phased out thing, after seeing the movie I don't believe that will be the case, although I could see how it would come off like that from reading about it. Tony Stark will definitely still be around, and I believe Iron Man will as well. I think it was more of the character just rebooting himself after all this shit he went through during and after Avengers. Although who knows, I could be wrong lol.

Definitely excited for Thor: The Dark World and the rest of Phase 2 to see where all of this goes.

One big thing that I liked about this movie compared to the other two(and The Avengers) is how much Tony did outside of the Iron Man suit action-wise.

This movie was directed by Vince Russo.

It took an incredibly obvious conclusion to this franchise...The Mandarin being the leader of the Ten Rings terrorist organization with the same questions, answers, and themes this third film presented...and fucked it up with a SWERVE SWERVE SWERVE (not even a very good swerve, mind you).

It was fun, it was good, and if you give no fucks to comic books, you'll enjoy the movie...but it had a ton of issues. Some days, I'll like it (not love)...some days, I'll let my inner and outer nerd fucking hate this movie.

Also...its got "a kid" in it...a kid as annoying as Kodi Smit-McWOAT. Seriously, he's the worst part of the plot.

This movie was caught dead to rights the second it hired on Shane Black to direct and eventually write most of the movie. The same problems in a ton of his 90's action flicks are in here.

They should have had The Mandarin as Ben Kingsley the whole way, as a leader of the Ten Rings terrorist organization with Aldrich Killian/Maya Hanson as his underlings. Called it Zero Dark Iron Man and made a 9 outta 10 film. But, you had to go all Vince Russo and SWERVE SWERVE SWERVE.

Cot damn.

I enjoyed the movie for the spectacle it was, but thought they went too heavy on the comedy. Also, the handing of the Mandarin was poor, IMO, and very far off from the comic storylines.

The climactic battle had a real Transformers-y feel to it, with a whole lot going on that was hard to keep track of. A lot of those suits were in for fan service, but it's not really fan service if you barely show anything but metallic blurs flying in front of the camera.

I hated that the minute you see Guy Pearce, you know in his meek/pisson manner that he will have his reckoning. The special effects were sweet, but jax is right, too much transformers feel to it.

I'm not saying Tony Stark/Iron Man isn't the face of their universe. But RDJ is almost 50 years old now. I just think the rest of the series will be more about the man Tony Stark than about the hero Iron Man. I would be completely shocked to hear that there's a Iron Man 4 in the works too. I doubt he'll get any more featured films as Marvel starts to bring other super heroes into the forefront. (Hawkeye? Deadpool? Doctor Strange?)

Marvel can't actually think a hawkeye solo film is a good idea, can they? What a lame character he was in the Avengers.

No chance Hawkeye gets a solo film. He's the definition of a supporting character. He has zero usable solo story arcs in his publication history.

Solo films I'm certain we will see are Dr Strange, Namor, Black Panther, Daredevil.

No chance Marvel makes a Deadpool movie. They are firmly against having an R rating for any of their films. It's why we'll likely never see another Punisher film.
