IMO, when a team loses because of a kicker in a situation like that, it isn't the team, it's the kicker.
No one expected Kaeding to make the 57-yarder, but those other kicks were well within his range ... and the "team" put him in position to have those easy kicks.
I'm not saying a kicker has to be perfect, but Kaeding missing a 36-yd FG and a 40-yd FG is like a runningback holding a ball loosely. There's no excuse, other than a block or adverse weather conditions.
I am not knocking the Jets - they played great when it mattered - but San Diego's players shouldn't be called chokers when the only real reason they lost is because their kicker couldn't do his job.
Pro Bowl or not - given his playoff history - Kaeding would see a pink slip on his locker tomorrow if I was Norv Turner.
