Jason Taylor really is no longer that good. I wouldn't be surprised if he got cut and didn't make the final 53 man roster.

Cameron Wake is a beast though.

what a fucking dumb statement. One bad year, in which he had probably the most injury plagued of his career AND WAS USED INCORRECTLY....and he's all of a sudden terrible and not going to make the team.

I truly laugh at how clueless many are here about football, yet they sure as hell don't talk like it...hence why my posting has reduced (yeah, I know no one cares).

Once in Washington, Taylor realized he never wanted to be there, and missed his days in Miami. It's clearly evident by every interview and comment he made last season and since the offseason began. Also by the fact he literally told his agent, Wichard, to call Miami last week and tell them to put an offer together...anything they can afford....and he'll play for that, money didn't matter.

P.S. Unlike others, I'm not appointing Cameron Wake the next God send. I hope he does well, obviously, but he has to earn it. By all accounts at the rookie minicamp, he DID NOT stand out above the rest and shows a problem in dropping in coverage and stringing out the run plays. He was able to attend the rookie minicamp because of his lack of status in the league.

I don't believe Taylor or Wake will start, maybe one of them will crack the starting lineup for a couple games but neither will be the opening day starter. Joey Porter will be on the field almost every play obviously and you got Roth who started opposite from him last year. Now when i think, who would you want in on pass rushing situations, Cameron Wake or Jason Taylor? Well Taylor did have only one down year but will also be 35 when the season begins. Then you got Cameron Wake who is 27 and also got 39 sacks in two seasons in the CFL. I just don't think the Dolphins have a need for him. He might make the roster because he has such a low salary, but if Taylor doesn't get much playing time i don't think that'll sit well with him.

JT has been informed prior to signing his deal that if he does not outplay others, he will be cut. He agreed to this signing the deal. And if he does not make it, he will retire (he said last week that if Miami didn't offer a deal he was going to retire as opposed to play elsewhere). As for the NE deal, NONE of it was ever true. There was never a deal in place.

As for starting, sure, Roth can start........if it's a potential run down. But he will not be on the field in passing situations, he simply can't get it down as a pure rusher. So....the choices to win that are JT, Wake (learning), Tearrious George (learning), Erik Walden (learning), or Charlie Anderson. Anderson is the only one with experience and was a blehhhhh FA signing last year who amounted to nothing.

taylor could be a decent impact if he is a situational player. depending on the defense they run he could even go to outside backer and blitz, or put him at the end on joey porters side and get lots of pressure on one side

They completely forget the 10 years of crap he stuck it out on in Miami and excelled. many are acting even worse than when Ricky Williams retired. It's sad how many Dolphin fans need to take their mouth off of Mom's teet.

Every team has their knucklehead fan base but I will never understood fans that act like that. Taylor gave everything he had and more for the Dolphins organization before leaving. By this point, everyone should know that football is a business. Not only that, but they should have wished Taylor success.

People also seem to forget how big of factors character and attitude are when it comes to creating a championship caliber team. It's not just about the 22 guys starting on offense and defense, the 2nd and 3rd stringers play a huge role on championship teams. Every team needs its role players to succeed.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but just an update.

JT has looked incredible so far in camp playing SOLB. Everyone on the staff/team have agreed he is one of the hardest workers and that so far, he is one of the standouts in camp.

Cameron Wake has been iffy, his skills have been questionable until as of late when they put on the pads. He's definitely a "pads" playing type of guy, where he is allowed to use his strength and speed more when the real hitting goes on.

P.S. Sean Smith, CB, Utah, is looking like he could be a beast and may be the starter opposite Will Allen and over Vontae Davis (no homerism).

Sean Smith looked incredible. Playing his first ever NFL game and you wouldn't even know it. Lets hope he keeps that up.
