No the only thing that might get repetitive and old is Fran Charles and Alex Flanagans face. It is pretty much so you don't have to go searching for standings and stats. Then also it is much more enjoyable to see how other teams in your franchise did and what games are to come in a preview rather then looking for all the games yourself.
The ESPN NFL 2K5 re-caps got old. Chris Berman's nicknames "Starvin" Marvin Harrison and other stupid things like that. Actually watching plays from other games were bad too. It was like the same three plays over and over again but with different players making them.

Very nice. One thing I'm a little weary on is are there actually going to be any in-game highlights of the previous week? Didn't show anything like that in the video so I'm guessing that isn't the case. Regardless though, definitely a big step (and a long overdue one) in the right direction.

What was the point of 2k5s after 2 weeks? You got the same highlight over and over, and that's not the way they want to do it. If they can give you something more dynamic 2 months or even a year from now, would you take this over canned replays like 2k5 had? Just my thoughts on it.
There's a couple of disappointments like this. One more big one, one relatively minor. I think, when you get your hands on the game and feel the difference, you'll start to understand where the effort went... even if the gameplay hasn't LOOKED like it in videos, you feel it. Especially if they shore up 3 issues that existed, so far as I know, 3 weeks ago.
Now for my complaint about this... Josh Looman put it out there in the video, "It focuses on your team."
When I heard that, my reply, directly to Ian and the guy who codes this thing: Then what's the fuckin' point?! We're not asking for it because we want to be the focus, that's one of the problems with Franchise mode... we feel like the entire football world revolves around us. We want to be part of a living, breathing league.
The response, to a certain extent understandably, was that focusing on the whole league makes the show too long consider they don't have highlights yet (as in, if highlights were in, it WOULD go through every game, cover every last inch of territory)... but as you saw in the video, in what I consider an outstanding design feature, you can skip to whatever segment you like! So if it's too long, I'll just skip forward to what I DO want to see. Ian replied, "good point", but apparently didn't take it serious enough to make the change.
