Trainer and scout makes sense, sure. But it's just silly not to have offensive/defensive/special teams coaches in the game at all by now. That means there are only 31 REAL coaches in the game meaning there are close to 100 real life coaches who are excluded entirely from the game again... If that's how it pans out then that's a bit of a downer.

As an owner it would be nice to try and pry other team's coordinators away from them to come be your head coach or even promote one of my coordinators to the head coaching gig. It gets old seeing Mike Tomlin coach 3 different teams in a span of 4 years. :smh:

My favorite is when the retired players would show up in the coaching pool.

I guess asking EA to hire an intern from DeVry to write that one line of code is asking too much.

This basically sums it up. Owner mode and relocation are not "new features". I remember being able to do both on my PS2 ten years ago.

Those games also had randomized draft classes every year and REAL coordinators (even John Harbaugh when he was a ST coach was in the game).

Now we're being sold these same features as "new" ten years after the fact and also being told that they don't have the capabilities to accomplish features they did a decade before with inferior hardware.

It's a joke and this company deserves every bit of shit it gets from the gaming community. They purposely retard innovation and even outright cut features only to re-release them down the road in order to have "new" features to accompany their yearly roster update to justify the yearly release cycle.

How come FIFA can make a new game every year and build on the stuff from the year before but the Madden team can't even get back to where they were in 2003?

Exactly, don't hype up Owner Mode as being able to form a "regime" for the team you own when you aren't even allowed to assemble a coaching staff. :smh:

But I'm sure that would create many more bugs and glitches in the game.

I was talking more along the lines of offensively. Maybe if zone worked more than 10% of the time I would use it more often. I still play it quite a bit throughout the game though.

BC the EA developers have a broken engine they cant fix. All resources go into extracting maximum $ from you through new game modes like MUT.

Not sure how owner mode or draft classes can be classified as improved yet. In fact, if you use draft classes for randomized drafts (you know, to kill the draft guides like they "want" to do) they penalize you by taking out the truly only new feature they've added since the move to next gen, the story lines. It's absolutely pathetic. How much you want to bet the owner mode is broken when the game ships? Since when is it good business to just "settle" for something. "We couldn't add it, too many bugs." Do they not have programmers? Have none of their programmers had any formal training? I'm willing to bet most of their staff is incompetent.

For arguments sake, lets assume they can't add stuff because of the yearly cycle. Would it not make sense to split into two or three teams.
Team A: Focus on creating an actual brand new feature in the game. Release a new in depth, working feature every two years in the game.
Team B: Focus on working out the kinks/bugs + adding little nuances (Different things in owner mode, assistant coaches etc etc) and release these every year
Team C: Focus on rosters or no Team C at all if not needed.

Instead their business model appears to have this all jumbled into one giant team leading to mass confusion and incomplete releases due to this "rushed" schedule. It's already proven over the course of this current gen that you don't need to release any new features in the game to keep up sales for Madden, all you need is updated rosters and a new cover. I really don't see what's so hard about all this stuff and why there hasn't been any real progress this entire generation of consoles. I mean on the PS2/Xbox they were atleast innovative with hit stick, passing cone, truck stick owner mode v1 etc. They need to get back to that model and start making some new shit in the game.

The notion that it took "a decade" to fix franchise is funny. It actually took two years to build it for M13. Previously, as mentioned, they didn't care about it and barely worked on it...because the majority was online. Online peaked, they had their TV show run a bit, people got tired of the leaderboards and cheese play...so the moved on. I don't understand how you can yell about all the years franchise wasn't even being developed, because they didn't really have reason to. Now they do.

These "new features" were on last gen Madden?

When did "Last Gen" Madden have a franchise mode that was both on and off line? With the ability to be just a player or coach or owner? Or any combination we want? Can't remember that.
Owner mode was the same as what M25 is showing eh? I don't remember having real owners with varying personalities that effect the game? I don't recall having a bankroll to manage and pay off big signing bonuses on the spot? Or having to manage money to relocate?
Speaking of relocation, what did the old gen offer? A handful of clip art logos with 4 generic templates to mix and match? No "real" relocation cause all you did was type text into a city and name field, voila, you "relocated". Did they actually have real world destinations that varied in market strength, or financial support in building a stadium? They had presentation/commentary for the cities you relocated to? Really?

These features are greatly enhanced from what we once had.

Question, what is so hard to comprehend about the fact that they decided to rip out the franchise mode and rebuild it from scratch? Do computer retarded people think they could do that, then just like..."plug in" features at the press of a button? Everything had to be re-written to function with the new core infrastructure. This is basic understandings of how computer code works and should have never come as a surprise that features would be added on as they went. All of the features from the previous Madden you love to reference, took years of adding to it in order to get to the final product. Yet, somehow it all needed to appear in the new designed mode day one?

This isn't defending EA, this is having a basic fucking understanding of how shit works.

I can see both sides of the argument. Shit takes time but on the flipside you have games like 2k thats shitting on everything madden does and they dont make the money EA does.
