UFC cooled off and now we're back to the same 8 people we started with
I will admit that my passion for UFC has waned a bit. I watch every show, but i'm annoyed about the awful matchmaking, the whole Strikeforce thing and how it all went down, Japan is non existent, and Bellator was sandbagging waiting around for Spike.
2012 was a horrendous year for MMA. Zuffa was a disaster with multiple cancelled shows and too many fights nobody gave a shit about (all thanks to too many shows), Bellator was awful, Strikeforce was intentionally killed, and there was no Japan.

I haven't really been watching each and every event like I used to either. The amount of good fights are few and far between in the UFC, more often than not it turns out to be extremely lopsided (Cain vs JDS), ends quickly, or nothing exciting happens at all. It's time for a drastic change in the sport, the rules need to be modified somewhat in order to modernize the sport. Every other major league has undergone changes (most of which to make their sport more appealing). So I don't understand why the UFC is so reluctant to do the same. Too many UFC fights are boring and the rules/judging encourage a boring style. Time to change. Also, with them doing more cards they need to cut back on the amount of fights per card. No one wants to watch fights from 6-12 and do so on a weekly basis, that's ridiculous especially considering how bad most of them end up being. Quality > quantity. Just cut down on the amount of fights and start stacking the main with 3-4 big fights, 5 is too many.

Personally, I say they should implement a half point system and emphasize offense from the guard or something else to take away the over reliance on wrestlers and their takedowns when they aren't trying to finish.

STACKED, don't need anymore fights than that. I'd gladly drop 50 for those 4 right there. Show 2 prelims on Fuel and call it a night. You'll have 6 solid fights which is still a long night of entertainment. Bump the rest of the fights to a free TV card or another PPV that needs to be beefed up. It makes it a whole heck of a lot easier to follow the UFC too, as you won't have to login and stream fights from facebook to know who's who and see some of the upcomers. I'm cool with the UFC running a lot of events, but I'm not going through 3 different mediums in one night to watch it.
Better & more free fights, higher quality PPV's, and easier to follow.. win/win/win
