Suns fans love Bledsoe as well, and McDonough/Hornacek are both known backers of the two-prong point guard system. Fact is, if Bledsoe is healthy all season - we're in the playoffs and doing damage to a higher seed. Not sure if the risk-averse McDonough is willing to sacrifice something great for a piece like Love, particularly if he can package a couple of the three picks we have for a different top-25 player and make a run at it with Dragic/Bledsoe. Okafor can't be traded anymore, as the insurance premium does not check out post-trade deadline. He will become a free agent following the draft.
That said, this exact situation has happened before in Phoenix - and Dragic is essentially a clone of Hornacek (check out their splits, it's really pretty amazing). Could see Love being Barkley 2.0 and jettisoning a fan-favorite out of Phoenix, though I can't see Horny being 100% happy with it.
Fact is though, we probably don't have the pieces with Okafor's insurance premium gone. Who really wants the poor man's Plumlee in a trade for a top-10 player? And no one in the league will want to split up the Morrii twins. Just can't see this trade going through in Phoenix post-deadline. I'd absolutely put money on the Celtics with pieces like a likely top-5 pick, Sullinger, Bradley, and Green likely weighing heavy on trade talks.
