The Arizona Cardinals like to go to Pro Bowl wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald when it matters most. This offseason the team has turned to Fitzgerald in a different way.

The Cardinals have solicited Fitzgerald's opinion on which quarterback the team should trade for or sign, according to league sources.

Fitzgerald's first recommendation was Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb, for whom the Eagles are expected to entertain trade offers. Fitzgerald also brought up Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Marc Bulger, whose contract is up this offseason.

What's also notable about Arizona asking Fitzgerald for his opinion is that the Cardinals know they have to keep their wide receiver happy. Fitzgerald is entering the last year of his contract and if the Cardinals don't have a viable quarterback, their Pro Bowl wide receiver might be less likely to re-sign.

But if Arizona shores up its quarterback position, it likely will shore up the fact that it can keep Fitzgerald long term.

Kolb is not better than Trent Edwards is right now. I can't seem to understand why everyone around the league fan, coaches and players think Kolb is any good.

The one thing that held Edwards back was his fear of getting hit. Prior to the concussions he actually looked like a solid starter. I think Kolb's skillset is similar to Edwards but he doesn't seem to play scared like Trent did.

Also, I'm not a fan of any of the quarterbacks Buffalo can get in the middle rounds so to get a young guy with starting experience at that price isn't a bad idea in my opinion
 
kolb may be overrated but a team like cardinals that started an undrafted FA at QB would love to have him. i am not saying he would win a super bowl or anything, but 7-9 wins that division anyways...
 
I guess I'm in the minority, but I think Kolb can play. The Washington game he was checking down too much, but against SF and ATL he has a QB rating of 103.3 and 133.6, with an avg yard per att of 8.16 and 11.24. While he didn't play well @ Tenn, the defense gave up 27 points in the 4th quarter and he was playing without DeSean Jackson.

I've seen every snap he's taken, he's not a check down QB. While he doesn't have the big arm he does throw down field and will play aggressively. I'm not saying he'll be an All Pro QB, but he's an upgrade over what the Cardinals have now and IMO could be successful if used properly.

Philly wants top dollar for Kolb. I actually read that I think Peter King wrote, Fitz wants out of Arizona due to the lack of a QB. They want a QB and a 1st rounder in returner.

They'll draft Newton.
