I play the DT because I like to follow the ball. Not to try a sack the QB on every play. Just to make him think faster. If the RB has the ball i'm going after the rb, if you throw the down field, i'm switching to a downfield defender and trying the pick or tackle.. And on offence I don't care what another player plays. I don't care if they take their DB or LB and move them right behind the line, so that the can come in unblocked. You can call yourself "manual" all you want. There is 11 players on the field. You can only control 1. So you if the ball goes where you are not you did nothing. Plus I'm more about play calling. I try note to call the same play more than 2x the whole game...:dealwithit: LOL

I couldn't care less what pos people play. If they wanna play dline that's fine. They can stay there and i can not worry about them on pass plays. And if their effective stopping the run that's fine, i'll just pick plays where that guys gets double teamed.

That's actually an effective strategy that I don't think it's really as you say, I'll use it from time to time depending on how the play is unfolding.

If someone's got a chance to get the edge with a good HB vs me controlling a midrate defender, then I'll push my guy into position and click off to bring another guy into the play.

If I get juked, i'm fucked.
If I tackle and it's broken, i'm fucked.
If I make the tackle, i'm not fucked.

Odds are not in my favour, but bringing in a second tackler changes that. That's not gay, that's why people don't usually run well vs me. :smug:

i bet u were never MM approved. its more of a sportsmanship thing IMO when before CPU controlled players had much more of an advantage.

but now with gameplay of sim bordering cheese and the win at all cost attitude that has taken over this site, its not a surprise attitudes like this are more prevalent.

I play as DT because you get some sort of action every play. If it's a pass you can go for the QB, if it's a run you go for the HB and make a difference if you're good at it.

On the other hand what I find boring is playing a safety shading the right side of the field only for the QB to throw a short pass to the left. Or playing linebacker while the QB throws a deep pass. When playing DT, generally you're right there a few feet away from the ball and you're always in range to make a huge play with one good move or stroke of luck. I find that more entertaining.

I like playing nose tackle. I prefer it over using a LB or S.

BigBucs as always been a huge complainer. Back in 2004 he was giving me a try out and he quit during the game and said i was press coveraging to much because he was losing.
