Let's Talk About: Sliders

I am using SECelite's from OS.

my only real issue is total lack of pankcakes for OL.. however I can't see raising Run Blocking as I already have no problems running the ball at all.

anyone else noticing this, or should i try switching up to someone else's slider set

There's an all-or-nothing breaking point with pancakes around 65-70 or so. Run Block at 100 basically makes the 9 other guys on your offense bulldozers. It's way overpowered. You can go into practice mode and start at 100 and work your way backwards into something comfortable. I have mine set to Hum/CPU 55/60.

yeah i had rb cranked up on my RTG HB, and it was just plain sick how easy it was.

with the sider set I am using its set like at 35 and I am still able to have big games against the CPU, but went an entire season with not one of my OLmen having a pancake

I did extensive testing on the sliders this year because I wanted to understand how they work. Your Rush Defense setting is also going to play into what happens at the LOS. I have that set to Hum/CPU 50/60. My goal was to create a nice battle at the LOS but if there's a matchup where one player significantly overrates his opposition, the weaker player is going to get dominated. The animation for OL domination is the pancake. The animation when DL dominates is the super power swim move or that bull rush move where the OL falls down.

I don't have a full season's worth of pancake stats, though.

Well, here's all of my write ups, if you're interested. It's kind of lengthy so I can't just repost it. The OL and DL sliders are something you have to feel out.

I never did get around to doing penalty sliders so I just borrowed someone elses. Penalties are a joke in this game anyways. I don't think I've seen PI called in like 3 or 4 years.

Knubb rosters are giving me great games. I'm also being able to get a good balance of rushing and passing. My only complain is the roughing the passer penalty might be too high. Get a lot of them.

MattUM said he got like 17 in one game. That's crazy, I've never seen more than 2 or 3 but the CPU does seem to get at least two a game. It might need to go down 5 or 10.

This is why I have you guys. To test my shit out for me. I haven't had too much of a problem with the Roughing. One or two a game, but it can most definitely be toned down.

I hate the rushing related sliders on this game. Sucks if you want the CPU to have a competent rushing attack you have to make it so the RBs are overpowered and brush off tackles and/or the CPU O-line just crushes everything.

Was using an AA set I found at OS and it was a joke. Might have to just give up on playing the CPU altogether.

I have made a few tweaks to mine, mostly on CPU pass blocking and bumped User interception to 30. I tried Knubb's and a couple from OS also. I just can't play on AA though. I understand the CPU cheats in Heisman but I never feel like it has the definite advantage over myself. I can still do things that the CPU can't, so if it has to cheat to keep up with me and level the playing field I am fine with it.

Finished my fifth season of dynasty and lost to a 6-6 USC and a 6-6 Stanford. So I am enjoying that I can't take any game lightly especially a rivalry game. And the game before USC, I destroyed Oklahoma(Highest Rated Team again) 42-10. So I like the variety in my games.

Everything is good in my slider set except for rushing. Maybe it is my defence, but as PITT I've held teams to like 350 yards through my first four. Of course I wasn't worrying to much as I played USF in week 5, and they had allowed less yards then me. Plus of the 5 teams I've played, only Navy was a run heavy team.

Trying knubb's sliders out. I had to turn "Roughing the Passer" back down to the default. The CPU literally was getting called for it every other play. When I looked at the replay it would always be one of the defensive players barely brushing the QB and him falling down because of it.

yeah its amazing how terrible the games have been about penalties over the years, the PI is just insane, unless I am controlling a DB and flat out kill the WR before the ball gets there, nothing gets called, the CPU never gets called for it even when they knock my guy off his route 15 yards downfield.

while on the subject, I love how the CPU will kill my QB 5 yards out of bounds and nothing is called.

yeah that is so unrealistic, its NCAA not the NFL
