Long term playability of Madden 12 franchise mode?

Don't have many answers for you spiker, sorry but I am interested in how this works out for you. The idea of controlling everything like that has always overwhelmed me so it interests me when some decides to take on such a task.

It's actually not as bad as you'd think. It doesn't hurt me at all during the season because I let the CPU sign FA to fill roster holes and it gives a little breadth to offseason and preseason. As a bonus, it gives me a chance to get familiar with every team roster and obviously the other team rosters make more sense since I'm making up for the poor AI.

Do I want to have to do this? No. I'd rather the CPU be smart enough to make human-like decisions so I wouldn't have to monitor the AI like it's a baby. Do I mind having to do this? If you can get past the annoyance factor, it actually adds to immersion.

Dont know about you but unless you play on all madden... and I recommend you dont because the CPU is just too overpowering a lot and it will do nothing but frustrate you because of all the bullshit, you probably wont lose and you'll get bored after a season or two. You know, typical madden stuff.

I counter that by not playing too often. You will find yourself unintentionally exposing the bad AI if you play this every day. I know how poor this franchise is. That's why I could only bring myself to commit to it only when the price finally dropped to $10.

I'm going to be talking about franchise in Madden 12 after 13 comes out too so suck it.

I noticed last night that the CPU AI is resigning UDAs after I cut them. So at the end of preseason, when I think I've got everything squared away, I have to go through the CPU rosters for a 5th and 6th round of cuts in order to re-cut the fucking shit players that they've signed. God damn EA sucks a BBC. :gayrod:

You could probably let the CPU handle that. They usually just cut garbo players and occasionally the good player to create cap room. The final preseason cuts I usually sim through myself.

I'm doing it on purpose because I don't want the CPU to handle that. They don't always cut the garbo players is what the problem is and then they are even going as far as to re-sign the garbo players that I am cutting for them.

There's no reason to be cutting players to save for cap room during the preseason either. No games have been played and there's no reason to cut cost and give up on the season. The squads coming out of preseason should be best talent available with maybe a handful of project players. Basically every team should be focusing on the "win now" mentality and keeping the best players available while putting off finances for later. Strategically, these should be short term decisions.

God damn this game fucking blows. If I get my route jumped by one more faggot linebacker, I'm going to snap this fucking disc in half, I swear. I could have a guy wide open, like no mother fuckers within 5 yards and somehow these linebackers jump up from nowhere and one hand intercept the damn pass. I'd have to say every single on of my passes were intercepted like this. You have to have a completely clean passing lane. Like there can't be any defenders at all between the QB and the WR. It's a combination of bad ball trajectory and clairvoyant super human defenders and it's atrocious.

That would be huge for people that have trouble distinguishing between a tap and a press on the corresponding receiver button. Most of my picks come when the receiver is 10 yards behind the defender but the QB throws it straight to the defender because he is in the line of sight.

Clearly not the same game you are. The APF 2k8 I played was filled with people throwing post routes constantly because the DB AI was shit. Whats yours like?

You can shade corners inside and out and then off or press. I've never had that problem and I play the game online and with friends. There is one route in the game that I'd say is cheese but it's not a post route. The DB AI isn't shit at all, at least in my opinion. Maybe you could mess with the sliders?

People will bitch about running a corner because in a cover 3 there is a spot on sideline thats open. I haven't played the game in about a month for personal reasons. Hopefully I'll get to in a week maybe if im lucky and I'll get to refresh my memory on all the ins and outs of the game again.

Not saying it's perfect by any means. The game does have flaws, trust me it does. But to me there is so much more that makes the game a chess match. You can shade safeties to disguise coverages where in Madden your safeties will always be 2 high pre-snap when the defense is running a cover 2, safeties will always look a certain way in a cover 3, etc.. Theres no disguising in Madden. You can also manipulate zones to go inside or out i believe. It just takes practice imo.

And about online I remember they have room for 5 minute all pro, 10 minute all pro, 5 minute legend, 10 minute legend. I can't remember if you can have custom sliders for a game, I think you might but I never bothered to try. I just stick to all pro 5 minute quarters.
