Madden 15 Retail Impressions

It was in next gen last year, but you would just hold X instead of L2+X. Game is definitely the best in years. You need to join the tourney Twigg. Man up, streaming isn't a big deal.

Played my annual Cards/Bills game. It's always my first game of the Madden season, since 2003. Felt pretty good, better than last year's in my opinion. Players felt like they had some weight to em, sort of like the last NCAA but a bit better. PP21 dropped two pick-sixes, wasn't happy about that. Fitz caught everything thrown his way. Floyd was a beast. What the fuck is the defense doing having the passing cone? I couldn't get the switching of defensive players down. Kept trying to switch to Tony Jefferson at SS and I'd get stuck at MLB in that player lock shit. Gotta work on that. Gonna take a few more games to get the hang of the terrible new play calling screen yet again.

After two days straight of Madden 15, primarily offline games vs. CPU, I give it two thumbs up.

I am concerned that I was up 6-0 to NWSaint in my online online game at the half and lost 48-13 ... but I'll write that off to disinterest when I lost momentum.

Offline vs. CPU has been goofy, but fun. One game, I won't score an offensive TD, the next ... I'll use unconventional offence with the Bills (5 WR one offensive series, regular run offence the next series) and somehow score 48 pts. vs. Minnesota in a crazy 48-39 win.

The big thing I love about Madden 15 is player lock on D. It forces you to play as one guy the entire play and gives the CPU a fighting chance on offence. I use the free safety in all plays where the safety is in zone (I suck in man coverage) and play on the D-Line in man coverage (usually blitzes).

My main issue with Madden now is the time it takes to play a damn game. I play 15 min quarters with 13 second runoff. Games take forever ... and I'm down with MLB the Show's quick counts and games not taking so long.

I haven't even considered going into franchise mode or anything yet ... I know CFM is screwed up.

I'd like to play a few more online games, but most of the VSN guys seem more concerned with skills trainer and practice before playing random games.

TWO THINGS I HATE ABOUT MADDEN 15:

A) The kicking meter. I don't get it. How does it work? Right now I'm happy if I ever fill the meter ... and in offline games, any FG, I simply sim.

B) Whoever decided to change the playcall screen deserves to be waterboarded. If I call one more fake FG play, I am driving to Orlando to find that f--ker ... and act like an anonymous Internet troll in front of him. Playcalling used to be a no-brainer, I never worried about calling the wrong play ... now I pray for Mojo.

Yeah, it's pretty fucking dumb. I accidentally called a fake FG once on a XP but actually converted the two pointer.

But, you do know there is an option to flip the buttons so that X is the play on top and triangle is the bottom play?
