and thats the attitude that is keeping gamestop in business and these type of exclusivity deals in place. what happens if GS ponied up the money to make madden exclusive to their store. all of a sudden ur paying 70, 80, even $90 for the game.

honestly fellas real easy way to cheat gamestop and get the demo and not spend any money. Gamstop only requires u to put down $5 bucks to reserve a game, put down your 5 in store, get your demo. then go get your money back if ur not gunna buy it from there, or have them put it on a gift card and give it to some kid in your fam for a gift.

Sorta followed the little twitter conversation between Ian and Pasta concerning the demo length:

ian_cummings@pastapadre - You confuse me. Your hatred for segmented demos honestly makes no sense to me (speaking as a consumer here).

pastapadre@ian_cummings anyone who wouldn't buy the game because they were satisfied with the demo was never a potential sale in the first place.

ian_cummings@pastapadre I disagree. I've personally (as a consumer) done that numerous times on demos...deep enough experience, no need for me to buy.
ian_cummings@pastapadre We need demos to be cliffhangers- leave you wanting more. i.e. No reason to build a demo for someone to test sliders out early.

Pasta actually proved his point. Ian is saying that he wants to maximize purchases by teasing the us; i.e. giving us just enough of the gameplay so that we can't scrutinize the AI.

Think on it: Pasta just said that he tried out enough demos to discern whether a game was worthy of his dollar. That if he got enough exposure to a game he could evaluate whether or not it was worth his dollar; i.e. if he hadn't had such an extensive experience he may have bought the game outright; it was because he was able to scrutinize the game through the demo that he decided not to spend his money.

EA doesn't want us making those decisions. I hate EA's decision but it makes sense.

Absolutely right. It makes sense as a business decision, and as a business decision only.

Do you think Madden will fall flat on its face? As realistic as I try to be, I just don't see that happening. And you of all people know how I feel about Madden. I feel like theres too many people saying good things.

It seemed like they were on the right track but now after hearing this i don't know. making a demo this short makes it seems like they're hiding something. this year is a make or break year for them. i predict that between the release of 10 and 11 the monopoly suit(s) will be cleared up too.

as u say stupid corporate decsions. i havent played the game, i am just an onlooker. and my opinion of the final game will probably be different than yours. and my opinion of the CD build would probably have been different than yours.

Judging by your posts, they could hand you Jessica Alba naked and available and you'd still complain.

As long as theres no game killing bugs with rosters, sliders, online franchise, or anything like that, I cant see what would kill it for me.

They cant hide much. Theres still gonna be that full game demo. I'll just go about getting it differently.

Well I've put my trust into the CD guys to a level where I can say, "Ok I believe you."

I still sometimes wonder if Ian and the team tell you guys to hold your tongue on subjects.
